Tramadol interacts with many drugs and cause dangerous side effects or death to occur.
Do you drink, take sedatives or other pain medications like morphine?
If so, know that swallowing tramadol tablets within hours of taking other medications or drinking may lead to severe problems such as confusion, tremors, excessive sweating and vomiting.

[quote author=RxH8 post=53039495] I agree completely that persons with mental illness experience suffering and are indeed vulnerable to others who make a lot of claims. Unfortunately, medicine does not have ALL the answers nor claim to do so unlike other fields. Nevertheless, it is not easy to dismiss millions of persons with mental illness that have benefited from medications. [/quote

I agree with u. its only in Africa and especially in Nigeria that people with mental health problems are denied d opportunities to live out their full potentials . They spiritual issues is attached to only brain problems but when one has malaria its normal to take drugs. Many professionals and highly placed in the developed nations would have been on d streets had they come from Nigeria ( they would be deemed possessed or maybe haven been indulged in money rituals) . I pray this country will grow beyond NOLLYWOOD mentality on mental health

RxH8:
According to studies done in Nigeria including Yaba psychiatric hospital and South East, up to 7 out of 10persons with mental illness in Nigeria visit religious, spiritual and traditional healers before going to the hospital. One wonders why they eventually reported at mental hospitals after visiting other places... Of course, because the problem persisted despite help from others. You can check out this link for the YABA study: https://www.hindawi.com/journals/schizort/2013/769161/

Exactly! Many deliverance churches and Pentecostal Churches claiming to deliver even take their leaders secretly to psychiatric hosp. while vulnerable and gullible people keep moving from pillar to post for deliverance. I just want them to mention one case they have seen not told or claimed of one that was completely delivered and is living normal for over ten years without medical intervention

HELP FOR TRAMADOL ADDICTION

If you have been taking tramadol in large doses or for prolong periods, do not try to stop taking it on your own.
Seek professional help or find a rehab centre.
Stopping tramadol suddenly may result in severe diarrhoea, rapid heartbeats, high blood pressure and excessive sweating
This is best done under a doctor’s supervision who will be on hand to manage any life-threatening reactions.

Have you ever wondered why people attempt killing themselves?
When many have the resilience to further even in seemingly irreparable situations, some wouldn't stand a bit of challenge.
Every year, about 1 million people die by suicide worldwide.
Re: Let's Talk Mental Health Here! by RxH8: 9:55pm On Mar 08, 2017
Although some persons leave notes before attempting suicide, this does not always resolve the question: why?
Why do people take their lives? Why would a hilarious grin, cheerful, grin kind and happy family member or friend want to end it all by taking his or her life? This is a question that have left many families bewildered tongue and shocked tongue after a loved one attempts suicide.

THEY MAY HAVE DEPRESSION

This has been found to be the commonest reason persons attempt to take their lives.
People with depression may believe they are worthless, hopeless, guilty and better off dead.
When a loved says he or she is considering suicide, NEVER dismiss this or treat it lightly.

THEY MAY HAVE OTHER FORMS OF MENTAL DISORDER

Mental illnesses associated with psychosis also accounts for cases of suicide. Schizophrenia, a severe form of mental illness affects healthy persons between 17 and 30 years old. Other forms of psychotic disorders may be brief but distressing as well. Hearing voices of unseen persons is one of the main features of psychotic illness which may lead to suicide. For instance, when a person hears voices of unseen persons, he may begin to hear commands such as ‘why don’t you kill yourself’ ‘You can end all these problems by killing yourself’ and so on. Unfortunately, an individual that is mentally ill may obey these commands with tragic results.

THEY MAY BE IMPULSIVE

Some persons are naturally impulsive, moving swiftly once their minds are made up. In certain instances, this occurs when under the influence of alcohol or drugs which may affect their judgment and increase risky behaviour. Drug and alcohol use may also lead to suicide in other ways. For instance, persons that drink or abuse drugs also experience intense feelings of withdrawal when trying to quit. This may be associated with depression, hopelessness and suicidal thoughts.

THEY MAY BE CRYING FOR HELP

Sometimes, people attempt to kill themselves when they find it extremely difficult to seek help in resolving serious personal or social problems. Surprisingly, they really don’t want to die but make the attempt to get back at someone that may have hurt them.

Re: Let's Talk Mental Health Here! by RxH8: 3:53pm On Mar 18, 2017
It is important to note that there are usually multiple reasons, not just one, for suicide. Several negative factors may weaken an individual’s mental health and overwhelm his or her capacity to cope.

If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, do not delay in seeking professional help.

Hello! How can you Tell if someone is depressed? I have received questions on that lately. Would be dropping info on that here.
Re: Let's Talk Mental Health Here! by RxH8: 11:23am On Mar 28, 2017
Unlike western countries, it is unusual for Nigerians to admit directly that they are depressed. This is because many see it as a sign of weakness. They are also afraid people will label them as having 'Kolomental', 'Psyco' or mad angry No body wants to be called such. Some are afraid of landing in 'Yabaleft' or 'Aro' embarassed shocked . I have also met a lot who never realized they had a problem that could be solved. When hopelessness sets in, a few have concluded the only viable solution is suicide. How sad!

Although making a diagnosis calls for involvement of mental health experts, there are basic signs that family membes, friends and colleagues can pick. This may well prevent further decline and save the life of that loved one.
Re: Let's Talk Mental Health Here! by RxH8: 12:33pm On Mar 30, 2017
There are three main things to look for:
Loss of interest- He or she begins to ignore activities that were once sources of excitement
Low mood- He or she begins to look sad. Some actually cry but tell you there s nothing wrong. Generally, they find it hard to explain this states of unhappiness or sadness.
Low energy- This is often quite common because people find it easier to to admit they are tired than depressed..

Re: Let's Talk Mental Health Here! by RxH8: 9:12pm On Apr 21, 2017
How much sleep do you really need? Most adults need between 6-8 hours every day while children need much more depending on the age.

To determine if you are getting enough sleep, consider the following: Does sleeping occur with ease? Are you alert and able to concentrate when awake? Do you wake up naturally at about the same time each day? Do you return to sleep quickly when it is disrupted? If your answer is No to any of these questions, you may need to work harder at achieving a healthful sleeping pattern.
