An Igbo proverb says ‘’There are various leaves in the bush, but people go in to look for Okazi leaves’’.

If Africa is resource rich, why can’t its people sift through the bush leaves to get that Okazi leaf to prepare the Okazi soup? Human resource

Why is African governments not challenging its people to use the resources around them to build that world class infrastructure, services, processes that are ingredient for development?

Why do Africans wait for foreigners to build their roads, when road construction is an old technology and the resources for road building readily available?

Why do African elite fly to foreign destination for Medicare when there are highly qualified Africans in Africa and all over the world who could run a sophisticated healthcare system for Africans?

Why can’t Africa feed itself when there is arable land to cultivate all over Africa?

I once argued, there is no resources needed to develop Africa that cannot be found in Africa.

How do you cultivate that Okazi leaf in large quantity so Okazi soup is available for everybody?

What do you think?

Resources ≠ wealth.

Africa lacks (Nigeria in paticular): Economic Freedom, rule of law, property right enforcement, terrible policies.

Africa is poor because you have rogue thieves and lunatics as leaders, plus lots of uneducated gullible and hopelessly senseless followers e.g Ipob etc
