Which Board nah. The Board is statutorily constituted with officials of various government departments. The moment one becomes Minister of Finance, he automatically chairs that board, Hammed Ali is deputy chairman of the board.

Bro,there's no board in place @ the moment and the current CG has refused to be deputised by the Minister of Finance as he claimed last year that he's not answerable to her in any way but the President. It's truly a misnomer as there's no board in place to oversee the promotion of those officers that sat for exams last year.

All the policies introduced into NCS are autocratic in nature. As an insider I can confirm that clearing charges are skyrocketed since this man came, their objective is revenue increase and thereby making life difficult for the masses as Nigeria is import dependent nation and resulted to inflation.

He is not a minister. He was appointed and that is all. He doesnt or didn't go for screening

This country is a failed state. Does it mean the President cannot get an experience retired custom office to head the customs? Square pegs in round holes. That's why it will be difficult for this administration to succeed. A retired military officer heading customs and senate approved the appointment. What a shame of a country. God will always find a way of sorting out the problems of His beloved children and the people that keep supporting this evil administration will continue to suffer it.

It is a great misstep for the CGC to refuse to accept the Board of Nigeria Customs Service stating that he is answerable to the president only.
This his position makes Customs lack the required manpower needed to move the Service fwd. Besides, how can a mere CGC sideline the Hon. Minister of Finance who is supposed to chair the Board? Just because he is a brother of the President?
Similarly, the same CGC was warned in his last meeting with the Senate to henceforth appear on his full uniform when next he meets with them or provide explanation of he does otherwise. But to our utter surprise, he didn't pay them any attention.
Finally, Ali is a round pole in a triangular hole. The level of looting going on under him because of his ignorance of the customs nomenclature and codes can only be imagined!!!

The Senate has no role to play in the appointment of the customs boss. Appointment as CG is not subject to the confirmation by d Senate

In all formal meeting and representation, the custom boss should be on his uniform with his rank fully displayed. Appearing before a senate committee in plain clothes is grossly unprofessional and insulting. No army or police boss will do it.
