Gazzuzz And Co.. Help Me Understand This by captainking(m): 7:30am On Feb 07, 2017
Good morning everyone.. I scanned my car.. Honda accord 2000.. V4... And it came up with P1166, p1167...and P0141... I was told it relates to o2 sensors.. So.. I checked if my sensors were working... And turned out they both dead. So I acquired 2 sensors and fixed them... And cleared the codes... However... P1166 code still came up while the rest cleared.. . Note.. Both sensors were tested and Confirmed working before installation... What could bring up this code again... Please help guys...
Gazzuzz... Mayor123... Honmusa.. Kingreign.. Nurey... Ikenna... And all car gurus.. Help me out here pls..

P1166 HONDA - Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor 1 Heater Circuit Malfunction

Now let's look at the solution.

REPLACE SENSOR WITH FUNCTIONAL ONE.

NOTE: you can only verify heater circuit resistance with a multimeter, you cannot tell if an A/F sensor is functioning with a multimeter. If you want to test properly after installation do a live scan and check out the readings on both sensors. Ensure you install the right part numbers as replacement.

The o2 sensor is not just in isolation ,it is connected to a four wire connector (2 wire to convey the sensor signal and 2 for heater circuit ) and since you are having issue related to heater ,you supposed to check the the heater connector first to confirm circuit integrity before swapping the sensor
Since you have already bought the sensor ,do a continuity test to confirm the heater wire on the sensor and if confirm ok ,check the heater connector signal integrity for short and open circuit.

Does your vehicle come with the ULEV tag? Meanwhile your knowledge on the use of a multimeter is essential in diagnosing this problem. If the heater circuit on the sensor is fine, you might have a malfunctioning Engine ecu

Remove the sensor from the connector side and do a voltage check on the 2 heater circuit (harness side not ), probe the black/yellow and black/white wire with a multimeter (ignition on ) to confirm thier circuit integrity .
The black/yellow should read 12v while the black/white should read ground .
where are the heater On the sensor side ,the heater terminal are two black wire while on the harness side the two black/yellow and black/white
if you still dont get it call my no on my signature

i4 . . engine has 4 cylinders and arranged in a vertical position, side by side like this

IIII

v6. . engine has 6 cylinders and arranged in a V-position . . so u have 3 cylinders here (bank 1 or 2) and 3 cylinders there (bank 2 or 1) as the case may be . . .

cylinder 1....V.....cylinder 4
cylinder 2....V......cylinder 5
cylinder 3....V
......cylinder 6

as the case might be

Let's not forget there is no catalytic converter in this ride. Have seen cases mostly in hondas were lambda sensors are ok and all wirings fine but if no cat. It complains about the lambda sensor when you run a scan
