XX01: Oh I didn’t notice the bus station there. I got my Fido for $55 o, maybe there was a promo when you got yours. Or maybe it’s not a standard fee. I can’t really tell why we got it at different prices. I got the winter jacket from Urban Outfitters on sale 10 Likes 3 Shares |

Any idea of how I can get my Drivers License Authentication Letter from FRSC ? Any contact or information will be much appreciated. |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by 40manlappy: 2:55pm On Mar 19, 2018 |
Anyone that needs the DL authentication letter urgently from FRSC can send me a PM so that I can share a contact that I got recently. I don't think it would be appropriate to post his phone number and email address here. Based on available information, you may just be required to arrange for courier service if you don't have someone to pick it up for you in Abuja. IMO, that is still cheaper than paying $50 to obtain it in Ottawa, especially if you are still in Nigeria. *MODIFIED* UPDATE: It has been reported that this contact has started demanding for tips. I suggest that peeps should explore other available means. 26 Likes 17 Shares |

Ennyo: Boss, There is no other way to help you than those highlighted in the previous thread. If you are still in doubt or confused, check other similar forums for more answers. Why not just contact cic directly since any info from them will be the best bet. NB: Bosses, we understand the need to help ourselves with information. However, if you have any issues, it would be wise to contact the organisation in charge. Then when you get a response that you dont understand, people here can help you understand better.... 2 Likes |

titiclassy: I can only speak for Alberta. You may be able to qualify for child care subsidy which will reduce your out of pocket daycare fees. http://www.humanservices.alberta.ca/financial-support/15104.html 9 Likes 7 Shares |

Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by salford1: 9:46pm On Mar 19, 2018 |
titiclassy:It would be a bit tough but doable. You have to find a job that fits into your schedule of picking up your kids from the daycare. Most entry or transition job have funny hours. Dayhomes are flexible with time. You might want to find out if dayhomes supports subsidized payment. I hope your husband would return soon. Depending on province (using Alberta as an example), when your 3.5 years old son starts KG, he/she would only spend 3hrs in school per day i.e 9am to 12 or 1pm to 4pm. That would further conflict with your work hours. As per cost (conservative), rough calculation if Alberta: Debits per month rent: $1000 Groceries: $300 Diapers: $50-70 car insurance and gas: $120 (depends on province) Electricity: $50 Phone and internet: $100 Daycare after subsidy for 2: $800 miscellaneous: $50 Credits per month Your 2 kids: $1000 per month Your wages: varies 12 Likes 14 Shares |

Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by wholesomegrace: 10:50am On Mar 20, 2018 |
salford1: Thanks for this info. @ titiclassy, have you ever considered working in a creche? I love taking care of babies and I do this presently and voluntarily, once a week though. That takes care of this hassle "entry or transition job have funny hours", takes care of extra transport cost, and the stress involved in juggling a career with child pick up/drop off. Creche owner might further reduce the cost of care for your children as a staff (don't know if that works in Canny though, just thinking). Lets just say we might be in the same shoes. I've got close to 10 years experience in banking and i'm ready to shift qualifications to one side to pursue a change of career that will fit around my children's schedule (both are younger than yours), at least until hubby decides to reside fully. We are still pleading . I've wanted to seek more knowledge from the house on processes involved in establishing a creche in Canada too, but time never reach. I never even start research sef. Just in case you are interested or if anyone knows what it entails, lets begin to share notes. We must succeed!!! 17 Likes |

My sister in 'pleading with hubby' and 10 years banking. Wish i could take sometime off work and do something flexible but I am.so used to a regimented life. Working at a creche will be fun because I love babies too. Anyone with any business ideas please chip in. wholesomegrace: |
