That is not enough reason to punish the people or for Buhari to take away what belongs to the people and use same to develop Abuja and Lagos! If governors, ministries and agencies stole from the Niger Delta, catch the culprits, try the culprits and jail the culprits based on the law! It is as simple as that. It is Nigerias defective federalism that gave rise to some of these political charlatans dominating all these state houses all over the country.. Stop supporting evil. Don't steal from the poor because their home governments stole from them. It makes no sense..

Point of correct which oil money developed Lagos abeg go chop sheet. Lagos hasn't changed that much since the British left so oil money has little impact in lagos.

Another reason why Buhari is a poor leader..He lost 100 billion dollars going after 13 billion dollar he claims Tompolo corruptly stole ..Who does that

it was actually N13Billion and not even dollars. Those of us who warned of the dangers of going after Tompolo were reminded that Buhari was a retired army General who destroyed the maistasteine sect!!! how pathetic.

Nigeria's estimated possible yearly crude oil earnings : $50.00 * 2,200,000.00 * 365 = $40,150,000,000.00 ($40 billion)

How is it possible to lose $100 billion?

Abi na Sanusi calculator? grin

If you divide the estimated by a population of 180,000,000 you will get $223.06 which is the reason why Nigeria is classified as a poor country with people earning less than $1 daily. Oil accounts for over 80% of forex earnings.

buhari is not the main problem of the ND or nigeria in general but the bad eggs we have for governors, senators, reps, nddc chairmen and commissioners, these people are more interested in how much goes to their personal accounts than what the common man in the ND gets, and worse part we in the ND cheer them on with our strength and blame buhari for everything,u talk of buhari developing abuja like abuja was built over night, when gej was there what did he do for ND besides empowering militants who offer nothing meaningful to the society?

These kind of characters are everywhere in the SE , SW , SS, NC, NE, NW.. They are part of a very stupid Nigerian politics. Lets stop behaving as if "my criminals are better than yours".. The problem of this administration is buhari. . , and his re-tarded way of thinking. His desperation to impose the wishes of his group against others infuriates and irritates. Whatever that happened in the oil producing areas thereafter are as a result of those his petty actions. They are nothing but instinctive reactions to a vindictive presidency.

Essentially, the whole country lost so much because we are saddled with a president whose ego is as big and hard as zuma rock! If the oil producing areas are that important, why not listen to them, get them to stop bombing and take care of their needs, then use some of the money coming in to change the fortune of those places?? Rather a sardonic/satanic president decided to take actions that will make the whole country loose so much rather than invest in those areas, all because he wants to be seen as the new Rambo. . . Meanwhile, this is a man whose hometown of daurra produces nothing. . If half of that amount is ploughed back into the oil producing areas in terms of building infrastructures and providing educational facilities for the people, won't that have been better since the government would still have something left, we would have had peace, and Forex would have been enough atleast to help curtail inflation?

Your whole analysis only happens to be long, it's void and senseless

I see. So it wasn't low oil price that is the issue. So GEJ's & Yar'Adua's diplomatic, leadership & negotiation skills enabled oil to keep flowing to fuel the economic growth until May 2015.

And Buhari came with slave master Funta Djallon mind to deal with ND militants and collapsed the economy.

The truth is coming out gradually. Continue. shocked shocked

Even if 1million barrels were lost daily, and assuming at current rate of $50 per barrel that means $50million was lost daily, now 50,000,000*365days= $18,250,000,000

So the assertion of $100M lost last year is wrong as even the above $ 18.25B is highly exxergerated .

Joint venture will also be deducted from the above
Re: Militancy Deprived Nigeria Of $100bn In 2016 –kachikwu by Nobody: 11:25am On Feb 15, 2017
Exxagerated. $100bn is way too high. NNPc owns aprrox 40 to 50% of all oil produced by virtue of royalties. So let's say 50%. Average oil price in 2016 was in the $40-45 range. So let's say $43. Multiply by 1 million barrels lost per day, that is about $43million, multiply by 365, gives u 15.6 billion dollars. Approximate to 16 billion dollars. We haven't talked about the lifting cost of the oil and processing as well as debt servicing on investment, employees salary etc. Say 60% off. Gives you about 5.4 billion dollars. This man sef I wonder if he is exxagerating to create sentiment against the militants. The only way that could have been remotely possible is if Nigeria operates a money recycling economy which is far from the truth, and even then it would be in the 20bn dollars range. So you see

It's no business of yours what they do with their 13% derivation or the allocation given to them. Give them what belongs to them and get what you need.
Yaradua and Jonathan knew this and they never had problems with militants.

The Northerners have killed and buried the PIB bill at the National Assembly whilst setting aside a % of the national budget for reconstructing the north east for unspecified number of years.
Why is it so hard for the govt to choose between losing $100bn or ploughing back a % of that amount into the troubled region?

What has Buhari done wrong, the problem with Nigerians is that we are illiterate claiming to be wise.. Whats ur state monthly allocation from the government, u don't know
Militants will bomb, u say it's Buhari's fault. NNDC will loot and deprive the people, u say is Buhari's fault.
People don't even know the role of their governor anymore because Buhari is the president and governor of the 36 States..
People know the reason for the recession, they are just runaway from it only to blame one man. We all know that blaming is what Nigerians know how to best

It is Nigerian government that have deprived us $100b because they refuse to do the right thing. If North need education flood them with schools, if the Niger delta wants justice and fairness give to them. If the East say we want a country where everyone is equal do it. Whatever the west need give them. If our economy need to start from the basic and require policies/structure changes to grow go ahead and do them. The government should stop beating around the bush and prolonging our nation problems, everybody need to comeforth with the truth to set Nigeria free.
