2 Robbers have been burnt to death in Calabar. Two unidentified arrested armed robbers were burnt to death yesterday by residents of Nyong Edem Street off White House, Calabar South in Cross River State. Operatives of the state Police Command were able to arrest five members of the notorious robbers terrorizing the residents of Calabar South. The armed robbers according to an eye witness were robbing shops along the streets in broad day light. A call was made to the state Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa at around 1.30p.m. and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, swung into action and during the process engaged the SARS team in a gun battle. According to them, the armed robbers were about 20 in number and 5 of them were arrested while others fled.
