I am working on this Anime character contract. I will be posting my work in progress here with their permission of course. So far I have fleshed out most of the model.

The brief is to make it halfway realistic while still retaining some stylized components. I have discovered that I spent so much time on unnecessary body anatomy than in the character's accessories.

I really wish sometimes that i did not read Anatomy for Artist. I spend too much time putting muscles. Like my brain cant just stop

I got the gloves.

I am doing some basic looking respirators

got some Nike boots modelled and roughly textured. i used a tutorial for this. Also working on the trouser folds

I am gradually getting my hands super dirty with this guy. Its still a long way off from final finishing but i am getting there

A divergent project will deter me from my monster project. This would be quick and i would go back to my Monster

I came to this level through constant practice.
You have to get your hands super dirty. You have to dedicate at least four hours a day.

YouTube is the best place to learn. Dont ever pay to learn how to model. But pay to learn how to animate. Choose any of the online schools like Animationmentor.

And you have to pick a niche. Do not try to be a generalist. That is someone who does everything, you will FAIL.

Pick a niche. Do you strongly like to model characters or do you love environments car designs or weaponry.

Always spend time searching on youtube. As a beginner you can start with stuff like Modeling an interior for beginners then as your head gets strong you go further . I am a stubborn person, I often start with Stuff like sculpting a headless horseman in Zbrush. YouTube should be like porn to you.

Then find an artist or two that their music propels you as you work. Mine is Beyonce and Madonna. Once they music is on, I am sculpting away

If you persists with 4hrs everyday, especially at nite.In less than two years u will be getting gigs

MSI laptop
6g GTX nvidia card

But you do not need to have all that.

Start with a laptop that can hold 8g ram

bad laptop is making me give up on both sculpying , modelling and animation .. and probably because am not seeing any income from it
