You're welcome.
Btw, be sure to pay your $165 ELIS fee before you leave for the USA. It will make the processing of your green card faster.
If you pay after you arrive, your green card might take longer to arrive.
And be sure to go to Social Security office to apply for your SSN.
The quicker you get all these sorted, the quicker you can start your new life.

Good day house landed in Houston safely yesterday via quatar airways... the airline was on point I enjoyed there service when I got to doha no pre cbp screening at all... it all went smooth and fron there straight to Houston... here is what happen....

Cbp hello sir how are u doin
Me am fine and laughing

Cbp why are u here in the us
Me vacation

Cbp is dis ur first in us
Me. Yes

Can I hv ur return ticket
Me. I show him

He later now called a guy and ask him to take me to secondary
I sat there for 3 hrs cos they where so busy later someone called me and took me to. Another room

He ask me abt verytin on my ds160 he was even changing it and I said no...that is not correct
Cbp. Do u know anybody in us
Me nooo

Cbp how can u come with just 600$ it's too small for 2 weeks
Me I hv my master card

He then took my phone and was checking all my chat... he now saw the chat I had wit my wife...
Cbp why did u come with ur wife..
Me I will do dat in December..i just want to come for my vacation and in December I will bring my wife. He now stamp me in.... rite now in Texas.....

Lesson stick to what u hv in ur ds160... thank everymember of this house and also seyewest

In the spirit of giving back. I arrived JFK on 5th July with my Mother, because I requested wheelchair for her.we were taken to the front of the queue.
CBP: How long are you staying in US
Me:Three weeks
CBP: Do you have anything to declare
Me: Yes,started naming them, he just stamped our passport and sent us to agriculture
Second CBP: Do you have Knorr chicken
Me: No
CBP: Do you have egwusi
Me: Yes
CBP: Is it grinded
Me: Yes
CBP: OK scan your bag
And that was it.Was seriously jet lagged that is why am posting it this late.God I miss my children.feel like entering the next available flight back home.it's all for good anyway

I have an F1 visa and Qatar ticket for late July, what happened during your layover? Any need booking a hotel accommodation?

hello people. i seek a little clarification abeg. myself and family are billed to travel to the US in 3 weeks. However, a development just occurred at my wife's office and that would prevent her from travelling on same day with us. She intends to join us 3 days later. i will have to go alone with the 2 older kids, while she comes with with baby. i am just thinking of the likely questions that may arise at POE and if it is advisable to go with the kids. we've always collected and renewed our visas together. Thanks

you maybe qualify for it but call Qatar airways and confirm so you they can process your hotel and necessary document to make it happen.

I think it's better you make a copy of her ticket just to buttress your explanation in case they ask.

I need your candid advice as a first time traveler to USA, before I book Lagos to New York(JFK) on Etihad airways as I will be traveling in September 2017.Has anyone flew Etihad airways lately? and where would be their point of entry.

You're wrong there's a CBP outpost in Abu Dhabi for anybody flying to U.S the moment you passed through the CBP officer you're in U.S technically meaning your flight to U.S is considered a domestic flight.

I disagree. They still refuse people entry even after entering through Abu Dhabi. UAE and USA are two different counties. Your POE is the immigration check counter at the US airport where you first land in to US.

POE is Abu Dhabi. There's a CBP post there. After that, you're essentially on a US domestic flight

Yes when I flew etihad my passport was stamped at Abu Dhabi.

hello house, first I want to commend d good job everyone is doing here. Now my question is that my passport will expire in February 2018 and my visa January 2018. I plan to travel july 29,to spend 2 weeks and someone told me that its essential that my passport has full 6 months validity to have a smooth entry into d usa. His advise is that I renew my passport before coming to the usa. House pls I need advise on this.
