Depends. . .there are people who no matter what i end up speaking pidgin with, even when they keep replying in english.  Same with language. . .some people sha, i mix it all grin But when i get irritated, english comes out and it gets drier and more proper in direct proportion to my irritation.

I was born in the US also but u can hardly tell because i speak ibo anytime i get the opportunity to do so. I have this fear that if i dont speak it constantly i might forget majority of it, which will be a deathrow for me.

It mostly depends on where you're located. People in Nigeria would probably interact more in native dialect compared to people abroad, mostly because they have people who understands the native language!
Re: Why Do U Enjoy Speaking English Instead Of Ur Native by Nobody: 8:06am On Jan 04, 2010
We're more comfortable wt english - a result of years of study. If we spent all that time studying our own languages, the reverse would be the case.
@iice: same for me! If i'm mildly irritated tho, or can't vent properly, i'll speak anything in igbo or french :-)

I speak whatever flies with me.
In school, English all day . . . mostly proper English.
Back home, yoruba all the way with a few jaras of English.
When I'm hoopin' with the niggaz, it's all expletive-riddled English

Hysterical!  The language of love does not stereotype or discriminate.  You may even speak yoruba with a blend of creole if you woud lik.
