The present situation in Port Harcourt city is just like what is happening to Nigeria... We have oil, yet majority of Nigerians live in object poverty. We have oil, yet Nigeria is an under-developed nation. Port Harcourt city/Rivers state, is an oil producing state, yet have nothing to show for it. The sorry state of the city and high rate of crime and criminals in port Harcourt doesn't speak well of the city...Imagine a city with enough oil companies, yet faced with high rate of unemployment, bad drainage system, irregular power supply, inadequate good roads, unaffordable healthcare, and underdevelopment...And the city is one of the most unsafe cities in Nigeria. Presently most people in the city cant sleep comfortably or move around without fear of being attacked, harassed or robbed by thieves/touts even in broad daylight...The govt of Rivers state need to address the situation urgently before things get out of hand...This river should be a river of joy, and not a river of tears, sorrow or blood...

Utter rubbish...was born, groomed and bred in ph...corruption and hoodlums are everywhere, it's not synonymous to ph alone...last month arm robbers raided a bank in douglass owerri and killed 4 persons...the major problem of ph is their indigenes, the boys are lazy mehhn...you beg them to go to school, it's under compulsion before you see an indigene of rivers go learn a thread or accept a job offer...they rely on the stipens oil coys and multinationals give them every month....an ikwerre youth prefers to be loading taxi and be collecting N20 per load and use it to smoke and drink than to go and work....and plus, they don't love themselves...they can poison themselves just cos of a piece of land their father left for them....they are the major problem in ph....do you know how many oil coys have relocated to other neighbouring countries and some to other neighbouring states cos of the indigenes in river state?...it's not everything we blame the govt.
