CatfishBilly,
Why can't he have his own opinion? Maybe he's guarding the avenues to his soul. Maybe he realizes that although a Christian, he's still a healthy, man...& knows his limits. He's erring on the side of caution.
You, as a male, should be applauding him.
You've reduced the body to a "piece of meat", but it can be a very attractive "piece of meat" for many people.
I don't understand your frustration?

It's not his position, he's projecting it as the Christian position, which you can see in the title of the thread.
If he presented it as his position, I wouldn't mind.
But presenting it as the Christian position is what I'm against.
Though I'm no longer a practicing Christian, I have colleagues who are practicing Christians and Pastors and General Overseers of churches and what he is pushing is an insult to them and outright false doctrine and you know this.
That he gets aroused at the sight of any naked female doesn't mean that other Christians are like him.

We're not speaking about clergy. We're speaking about medical practitioners....two totally different fields. Clergymen shouldn't be in any position to be looking at nude females.
I get what you are saying...but you need to see where he's coming from.

A gynaecologist is a medical doctor who specialises in treating women especially on sexual reproduction. As part of his/her job, he/she has to look at the unclothedness of women repeatedly and occasionally fumble with (sensitive) parts of their bodies. A born again Christian who hopes to make it to heaven and see God must be pure in heart (Matthew 5:cool and holy in conduct (Hebrews 12:14). Should a born again Christian who is a boy/man study or practise gynaecology as a profession?

With all due respect @op, this is a very silly question.
Why won't a godly Christian male become a gynaecologist Except he doesn't know his responsibility as a specialist in that field or knows not God.
Hope your next question won't be whether a true Christian can be a urologist sha? undecided

BTW, what is UNHOLY about treating the sick (irrespective of gender or kind of sickness)?

I was referring to doctors who are also clergymen.
And they do examine nude females if the situation calls for it to aid their diagnosis.

I repeat it again, you're not a doctor, so, you are only assuming, you are not speaking from a position of knowledge, you're speaking from a position of ignorance.
Every doctor that comes across a gynecology/obsteric case MUST EXAMINE his patient. And that is basically "fumbling with their sensitive organs" like you so eloquently said.
So, by your logic, a born again Christian can't become a practising medical doctor.
Ok. I prefer being 'ignorant' about medical profession but knowledgeable about the requirements for heaven. So I repeat, if 'managing gynaecology cases' involves compulsorily perusing the nudity of the opposite sex and fumbling with their sensitive organs, then it is unchristian. Thanks.

There is nothing unholy about treating the sick of any gender but there is definitely something wrong with looking at the naked body of the opposite sex and touching their sensitive organs as part of one's job. It is defiling and unholy sir. Thanks.

Thank you very much for your understanding ma. But I believe this is not only applicable to clergymen but to anyone who is born again and seriously desires to be undefiled so as not to be disqualified for heaven as no one knows his/her last moment on earth. Thanks.

Funny thing is your wife/you will still visit those unchristian folks for help where they'll definitely touch her sensitive organs, which will now count as adultery by your logic since she willingly submitted her self to be examined.
How about that for hypocrisy?

Touching the sensitive organs you say? undecided Sorry to say but that viewpoint of yours is NOT scriptural sir. Feel free to prove me wrong.
Whatever you do with the purest of intent is right in the sight of God.
If you see nothing wrong in a male doctor touching the sensitive parts of a male patient (in this era of rampant gayism), or a male paediatrician examining the sensitive parts of a female baby (in this era of prevailing paedophilia), I wonder why the objection about male gynaecologist for women ailments.

Remember, God sees the heart; hence, in so far as the gynaecologist does his work with the mindset of rendering quality treatment to his patients, there is absolutely nothing sinful about that.

My wife has been to gynaecologists several times. On one occasion, she came back and told me all that happened some of which she was not comfortable with. Hence part of the reason for my bringing this up. Although this is a public forum, the message is for male born again Christians who I believe appreciate and will yet appreciate it. Thank you all for your contributions.

You imply that I do not see anything wrong in gayism and paedophilia. Nothing can be farther from the truth. It appears some people are missing the point. My motive here is not to win the argument neither I am aiming to show off how scholarly I am about the subject matter.
My message is for male born again Christian doctors who are expected to keep away from every sinful practice including those that appear evil. I believe they and other like minded believers appreciate such. God bless you all as you keep yourselves in the love of God and unspotted till Christ comes I J N, Amen.

You are not far from the truth sir. The Boko Haramites and myself have something in common! They hate and physically kill their human enemies whereas I and my fellows hate sin and desire that it be killed in the lives of people so that it will not kill them eventually in eternal hell. Can you see the similarities and differences now sir?

Gynaecology is a noble profession for both males and females; there's absolutely NOTHING sinful about the practice. Note that generally in human medicine, such kinds of examinations (which you earlier on ignorantly referred to as fo.ndling) ain't peculiar to only gynaecology alone, but most specializations under human medicine also perform similar body examinations on patients where necessary.

I wonder why you are acting like the pharisees of old who were only concerned of the physical 'holiness' of abstaining from what they narrow-mindly consider as 'unholy or iniquity'. That was why like you, they were so quick to condemn Jesus Christ's actions which were regarded by them as 'ungodly/sinful' e.g His interaction with & acceptance of the likes of Zaccheaus and Mary Magdalene.

So pls, there is absolutely nothing sinful in a male practicing gynaecology; what matters is the faith & intent of the Practitioner. Same way there's nothing bad about being a lawyer or any other misconstrued profession out there whose founding objectives are just and pure.
Thank you.

Oh yes he can. Being born again entail making certain resolution from within & commiting your life unto God. Being an O & G specialist is supposed to be a call of duty to humanity. What's humanity if it's not God.

Seriously a born again christain should not even be any type of physician because that is like fixing the creation of God (Man) with earthly knowledge. That is like throwing shades at God, which itself is a sin. I think people should just go to church for healing, checkups and so on.

Why not? Profession and career in life depends on self-discipline and not religion. If you discipline and conquer yourself first, you will excel in your chosen career, but if you fail to do so, you will be successful in any profession even if you are appointed as P.A. (personal Assistant) to Jesus Christ.

This is a sensitive topic. As a Christian, my personal opinion remains that it is very wrong for a male believer to be a gynecologist

1) Examining the breast of a woman that is not your wife as a heterosexual male is wrong
2) Examining the private parts of a female that isn't your wife is totally wrong
3) Some male doctors develop feelings for their patients and vice versa
4) Our sight is a gateway to temptation
5) If a woman examines the private parts of a male patient how will he feel, assuming he has a wife, how will she feel?

I can go on but let me stop here, it is wrong and no religions supports it

You have a very dirty mind. I don't think you have anything to do with God.
