2007 Opportunities
In 2007 we will host 35 Gateways interns located in North America,
Latin America, Europe , Asia Pacific, and Africa Pakistan regions.
The selection and placement of interns will be decided by the Global
Marketing Selection Committee:

Four positions will be filled through Chevron's existing partnership
with INROADS. For more information on INROADS, visit

Ten positions will be filled by 2006 interns returning for a second
internship;
Twenty-one positions will be filled through a general announcement
to Chevron Global Marketing colleagues and universities and colleges
where Chevron Global Marketing currently has a relationship.
Purpose

Gateways allows Chevron Global Marketing to establish early
relationships with college and university students from around the
world;
It provides talented undergraduates and graduates with
multifunctional experiences and first-hand knowledge of the wealth
of career opportunities within Chevron;
It helps us move closer toward our goal of being an employer of
choice and good corporate citizen around the campuses and
communities where we operate.
Eligibility

We are looking for candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate
program within two years of graduation, or graduates in their first
year of a graduate program;
Applicants attending universities utilizing the Grade Point Average
(GPA) system must have of at least 3.0/4, 4.0/5, or 5.6/7;
Applicants attending universities not utilizing the GPA system must
be able to provide a letter of good standing as attested to by an
officer of the educational institution;
Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Successful candidates must be available to serve a 10-week
internship during the period of June – August, 2007.

i advise you to read it through properly, cos it says you need to have authorisation to work in the US and 3-5years experience.

Chevron in Nigeria
Come be a part of a dynamic team in one of Chevron’s largest areas of exploration and production and one of Africa’s most prolific oil-producing countries.

Chevron has been active in Nigeria since 1913, when legacy company Texaco products were first brought to the market. Under the banners of Chevron subsidiaries Texaco Overseas (Nigeria) Petroleum Co. (TOPCON) and later Chevron Nigeria Ltd. (CNL), the company discovered Nigeria’s first offshore oil fields in 1963—the Koluama and Okan fields.

In 1997 CNL started the Escravos Gas Project (EGP), the nation’s first major project to gather and process natural gas. The completed project will increase exports to more than 43,000 barrels per day of liquefied petroleum gas and condensate. Continuing the search for offshore oil, CNL discovered the Agbami field in 1999 and uncovered potential recoverable resources of 900 million barrels of oil equivalent, Nigeria’s largest ever deepwater discovery.

Today Chevron has the largest acreage position in deepwater offshore Nigeria and owns and operates more than 300 Texaco-branded service stations, blending and manufacturing facilities and marketing activities. CNL is expanding rapidly and investing significant capital to drive long-term production growth in Deepwater and Gas, as well as other base businesses. At the same time, Chevron is committed to actively promoting a safe and healthy environment. The Nigeria Escravos Gas Project and other gas-to-liquids initiatives will reduce natural gas flaring by a projected 680 million cubic feet daily by 2008. At the same time, Chevron, working with a consortium of West African local governments, is developing a West African Gas Pipeline that is expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 100 million metric tons over 20 years.
