BREAKING NEWS: MEND blows up pipeline in Niger Delta

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta claims that it has blown up a pipeline belonging to Shell/Chevron at Abonnema in Rivers State.

” This attack is due to the prolonged silence by the Federal Government due to the President‘s absence, ” MEND wrote.

But the Joint Task Force Commander, Gen. Sarkin Yaki Belo, said the task force was yet to confirm the attack.

He however, said the body would go after those responsible for the attack if confirmed to be true.

” There is no verification yet by the JTF that a pipeline has been sabotaged around Abonnema. If this act of unpatroitism is confirmed to be true, at a time the Federal Government is doing its utmost to consolidate on the gains of the amnesty programme, then the criminals behind the act are enemies of the Niger Delta and indeed Nigeria and they don‘t deserve any sympathy, ” Col. Timothy Antigha, JTF Spokesman, said

I say MEND blow up all of the Niger Delta. When they are done destroying their own backyard, then we go hear of the glorious way the Niger Deltans were saved!!!

Like i said before, you cannot sugar coat an issue without going to the source to unravel the problem. This amnesty program was a failure in its inception because the Nigerian Federal government cannot be trusted and they have shown it time and time again. Invest in these people, their infrastructure, education, roads and show sincerity, and you'll win more good will than pay a bunch of militants monthly. How long can you sustain such, ??
