“THE PURPOSE FOR LIVING”

OPENING PRAYER:

Father, help me to fulfill my purpose for which you created me.

BIBLE PASSAGE: LUKE 12:13-21

MEMORY VERSE: II CORINTHIANS 5:15 “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but

unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

LESSON INTRODUCTION
We see from the scriptures that our God is a God of purpose [ Eph 1:11 ]. He has purpose for your life

right from when you were conceived in your mother’s womb[ Jer 1:4-5 ]. However, since the fall of Adam, survival and

preservation became the strongest instincts of the natural man. At the same time, the natural man wants to make a name for

himself [ Gen 11:4 ]. These tendencies manifest in the desire to possess. It shows that the natural man is living for himself.

However, there is the need for us to discover the purpose of living now that Christ has come.



LESSON OUTLINE 1:

THE PURPOSE OF LIVING BY THE NATURAL MAN

What are the natural[ Un-regenerated, unsaved, not born again] man stand or living for.

i. He/She is living his/her life for self not God/Holy Spirit- I CORINTHIANS 3:3

ii. He/She stands for greed, increased possession and earthly achievements- Luke 12:13-21

iii. His/her selfish drive include status, fame,skill, power,title, profit, pleasure, etc- Matthew 6:31-32; Matthew 19:27-30

iv. He/she tries ways through crimes to attain selfish results

v. The Lord does not want His children to be entangled in the web of acquiring grace for material possession- Luke 12:15.
Class activity 1: Discuss the solutions to craze for Material possession In our Society.?
LESSON OUTLINE 2:THE PURPOSE OF LIVING FOR THE REGENERATED SOUL.

i. Regenerated soul is a life that is controlled by the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit- John 8:42

ii. Regenrated soul wants all souls saved- John 3:16; 6:37

iii. Regenerated soul would not live for self but Christ- II Corinthians 5:15; Phil 1:21

iv. Renerated souls are dead to the demands of the natural man- Eph 4:22; Col 3:3

v. Regereated soul seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness- Matthew 6:33

vi. Renerated souls are filled with the word of God and Holy Spirit and not material possession- Eph 5:18

vii. Regenerated souls are fruitful in soul wining for the kingdom of God. John 15:5,8,16

viii. Regenerated soul gives praises and honour to God for everything he/she possesses. Eccl 12:13; Col 3:17
Class activity 2: Mention five things that distinguish regenerated soul from Unregenerated Soul.?
SUMMARY- God wants all souls to be regenerated
CONCLUSION- When a person is regenerated, his purpose of living is changed completely to living for Christ. To live for Christ,

the ambitions of the natural man must die- Gal 2:20

CLOSING PRAYER

i. Father, please let the unbelievers repent and return to the Lord.

ii. Father, please heal the wounded souls and draw them back to yourself.

iii. Father, visit all your counsellors and evangelists in all ramification and meet their needs in the name of Jesus.

iv. Father, bless our land and prosper us as a nation, in the name of Jesus.

​​LESSON INTRODUCTION​​ : In the previous lesson we discovered that the Purpose of living for the natural man is for Himself ( Luke 12:15), While the purposes of living for the regenerated Man is to live for Christ ( II Cor 5:15). lt is Important to know that God does not waste resources. Hence, everything He created is for a purpose . The Sun gives light and never Ceases to shine (psalm 136:7-9), the Cloud gives rain in due season and trees provide food and shade accordingly ( Lev 26: 4 ). Other animals play their parts without hesitation. Amazingly, Man Struggles to understand and fulfil his purpose for living. The discovery, as well as fulfillment of divine purpose, is the focus of today’s lesson.

like Apostle Paul, Once You become a new creation in Christ ( ​II CORINTHIANS 5:17​), you must begin to Crave for understanding of your Purpose for living on earth ( phil 3:12 ) . That purpose has been predetermined by God before you were born ( Jeremiah 1:5 , Gal 1: 15 ) . It is Your duty to discover and fulfil it . Here are Some practial pointers to your Purpose for living:
1. ​Potential​ : You need to Identify Your In-built ability, your talents , and God’s given gift ( Eph 4:7 ). find out the things You do with less stress e.g Singing, drawing, talking to a crowd , helping others e.t .c . The knowledge or sKills you Can acquire in life should be to shape and Sharpen your potential. ( Acts 7:22 ).
2. ​Passion​ . What are those things you exceptionally have flare or Zeal for, and do often and often, build Your Vocation or career on Such things. The things that get You excited, gives you joy and satisfaction Can lead You to the fulfillment of Your purpose in life ( plsm 69:9; Col 4:12-13) .
3. ​Prayer​ . After You had Identified Your potential(s) and the thing(s )you are passionate about, you need to pray for divine guidance and direction, so that the world and the enemy will not hijack your purpose in life ( Acts 9:1-2; 10 : 9-20 ).
​LESSON OUTLINE 2​: LIVE TO FULFILL IT​

These seven things will help every Child of God to Fulfill purposes in life:

l). Ask God to reveal to you His plan for your life- Jer 1: 4-5. then, draw a Vision and mission statement- Pro 29: 18; Habakuku 2:2

ii). set achievable goals and fulfil them Acts 20: 24, psalm 57:7. Take a step at time and do not not be a mediocre- psalm 37: 23 ; Hebrews 6:1.

iii ) Identify and relate with people of like passion: learn from their mistakes and build on their Success- ll Kings 2:l-2,14

iv ) . Submit Yourself For mentoring and counselling: do not claim to Know it all – Acts 18: 24-16; proverbs 11:14; 15:22 .

V). Live as If you have just one more day on earth: do not procrastinate- Luke 9:61.

vi ) . Focus Your attention on God (Hebrews 12: 2 ). sure all that You do is to His pleasing Colossians 1:10.

v ii). Always return all the glory to God: do not ascribe anything to Yourself- Malachi 2:2 , Daniel 4:30-34 .
​Conclusion​ ​: So many people live and die without leaving any positive mark. Be different, You are not a nonentity.​
