Lmao..

All I see is attention seeking from the man. I got this from the OP post,

But this disclosure as well as the alleged annexation of some parts of Ijaw territories in the proposed map of the Oduduwa Republic did not go down well with the acting secretary of the Gbaramatu Traditional Council, Chief Godspower Gbenekama

It was an allegation and not a confirmed statement and yet the man was blowing up and down over nonsense! Who wanted Ijaw in the first place?

BTW, no land of Ondo state is Ijaw. We only offered them land for fishing, it was never theirs to begin with.. Does the name Ese Odo sound Ijaw to them? They themselves know wahtzup the last time they tried rubbish. Thank God we have the papers to back it up..

Yeye!

And I live among igbos too and am an igbo man,.....you can never see igbos see their brother in another land without assisting them.....the apprentice in trading, which pepople does that...is it not igbos....for someone to take another persons child, train him and settle him, and tommorrow that person becomes rich, abeg which other help do yo need....stop dividing us....is not good....everyhuman being have bad side yes...but to conclude that an igbo man does not help another is just pure fallacy...because igbos success in business is based on the fact that they help each other.....go ask

Guys, please read the entire Ijaw rebuttal in the Tribune newspaper that he quoted, then go back and read Adebanjo's interview on the Yoruba people's wish to break away. You will not find any correlation between what Adebanjo said, and what the Ijaw leaders are now saying! shocked

Adebanjo did not even mention the Ijaw people in his interview, and yet the Ijaw leaders are opposing him claiming he tried to include the Ijaw in the proposed Oduduwa republic. Where did the miscommunication come from?? And why are the Ijaw leaders attributing a statement Adebanjo never made about their tribe, to the old man?

What exactly is going on? Can you Yoruba people explain it to those of us that come from other ethnic groups? Till now, nobody knows who drew that proposed Oduduwa map! Where did it come from? undecided

Read Adebanjo's interview here:http://www.herald.ng/oduduwa-republic-yoruba-is-ready-to-break-away-from-nigeria-ayo-adebanjo/

I wonder, o!! shocked I read Adebanjo's interview and not once did the word "Ijaw", come up! So what are the Ijaw/Izon leaders going on about??

Pa Adebanjo does not mention IJAW but the IJAW settlers in ONDO State think they should be merged with greater IJAW nation. But sadly, the ese odo is very far away from IJAW mainland.

[quote author=seanet02 post=54744492]How can a whole tribe be this ignorant? Where in the article did the man mentioned nIjaw or Lazzy ozons or whatever as being part of Oduduwa Republic?
[/quote You keep on saying the same here and there. Take a look at the Oduduwa map where did it end? Iook will never part of any groups if need be.

If they try any rubbish, they would all be sent packing to their bush and rivers. Nonsense!

Which part of Ondo land do they own?

They should tell us one LG the Ijaws own in Ondo?

They settled on the fringes of River and they know they are mere settlers. They tried to claim the land adjoining the waters were they settled in 2003 and they were resoundingly beaten back.

The same noise they made at Ajegunle that led to their total annihilation.

We do have anything in common with wrapper tying men of Ijaw and we do not wish to be in any country with them.

You dey mind dem..

They will cry as usual if they try any rubbish, they should tell us if "Ese Odo" sound Ijaw to them!

From what I'm seeing, no one even talked about annexation but them. Bunch of Land grabbers looking for lands to grab..

We know our land from Jebba to Epe, Saki to Ore, Badagri to end of Ondo State, Port Novo to Sabe in Benin Republic.

We DO NOT want an inch of Ijaw land. We do not have anything in common with wrapper tying men.

Our only cousins are Edos and Itshekiris and distant cousins are Nukes and joining our nation is their decision and not ours.

Breaking the country wouldn't solve the problem at hand. You forgot that we're multi lingual and that each state has it's distinct dialect and culture. I only use those areas as illustration because they're not united. Go and ask south Sudan how far after the break up. Our various leaders from various states are selfish and they don't fight for our development. For example look at Warri today and compare it with Port Harcourt. Why did you think most oil firm left Warri for PH? Wasn't Warri suppose to be like PH?. Look at each state today, how many of the so called infrastructure can last for long time . I was in Benin city of recent when they celebrated former bendel state governor and the comment about him was wonderful. He was a leader that wasn't selfish to himself, a leader that the people can have access to. His works are still speaking, even the roads he constructed are still in good in some areas. Now tell me if we had someone like him, would all these madness about breaking up start?. Those agitating for break up, are they even ready if a poll in carried out.Are they ready to sacrifice what they have invested in other states to relocate home? At least Biafra brouhaha is understandable to a large extend what of Niger delta republic, oduduwa republic, northern republic e.t.c.
there you have it...our leaders don't work for us and yet they still get our backing.... do you know why such happens? because of our diversity. Nigeria won't move forward under this current arrangement. Hausa man will always support Buhari no matter how evil he is, the Same way an igbo man will support nnamdi kanu no matter how crude his speeches may sound likewise a Yoruba man that will always stand with obasanjo even if he's no saint. we are so distinctly divided that we can't work as one no matter how hard we try it. if ethnicity doesn't draw us back, religious differences will. Any sincere mind will agree with me that Nigeria wouldn't work even in the next 50.yrs ..the constitution is bad and no Senator will venture into amending it because it will be his loss. The best shot at changing this current constitution to favor everyone is By peaceful dissolution of this country.

What a shame?
Some decades ago, this kind of discussion wouldn't have occurred. That was when Yorubas had leaders who were truly interested in their region. Unfortunately, we've been corrupted by cultures that place no value on integrity, hardwork, and objectivity in the guise of politics and religion, to the extent today, there's virtually no difference between Yorubas and their fellow countrymen. Yorubas have lost it. We need to go back to the drawing board and reinvigorate our value system. By then, people will be be willing to pay to join us. When we had regional government, I'm sure no one wlll compare his region to the SW. The elites today in other regions got their education from the SW.
First of all, we must accept as a people that we've lost that touch that gave us the HUGE edge over others and go back to the drawing boards. Our value system had no place for corrupt while those we're comparing ourselves with on this thread idolize corruption; they're not even aware anything is wrong with it. That shows how much we've fallen.
In all honesty, that map is provocative. They have the right to react the way they did. I know the attachment Yorubas have with Itsekiri, there can always be a way out in case of an eventuality. The Binis have told us point blank they're not our brothers in recent times, so, why regard them as your people(I know when the time comes, the chicken will come home to roost), why include them in your map?
Perhaps, a historian drew the map. Yes, I have no doubt 70% of the tribes in west africa, not just Nigeria, have a common origin, in the Niger confluence region, from where we dispersed and languages separated. But then, realities of today and interests have made us different peoples.

I have said it elsewhere before: "The 'juju that those Afonja chaps cooked for you Igbos, must be a very powerful one. That is why you keep chanting their name, at every little opportunity you get!" There are over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria, and the minute that someone disagrees with your warped perspective, he becomes an Afonja. Unfortunately for you, that word has no meaning in my language. So continue chanting Afonja....may your obsession with that ethnic group forever increase, and never diminish! Oya, say Amen.... undecided
