A 20-year-old man, Waliu Ponkunh, who allegedly hit a 14-year-old boy with an iron rod on the head and killed him, was on Monday remanded in a Lagos prison.
An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court which gave the ruling, stated Ponkunh ought to be stored behind bars at Ikoyi Prisons pending recommendation from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

She alleged that the accused had an argument with the deceased about who was older, and within the course of, he picked an iron rod and hit the deceased, Emmanuel Akinola, on the top.
