A robbery suspect, Mohammed Saheed, 40, who resides at 46, Oriola Street, Ketu, has been arrested by the police at Owutu Division, Ikorodu, for stealing in a church, The Home of Grace Bible Church, Agbede, Ikorodu.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspect had met with the pastor of the church, Michael Ojo and told him he had problems and needed prayers and assistance from the church.

During the conversation, he collected the pastor’s phone number and later excused himself that he needed to ease himself.

A police source, who spoke with P.M.NEWS, narrated that the suspect had not gone to ease himself, but had used the opportunity to call an accomplice, who he gave the pastor’s number. The accomplice called the pastor that his wife had a serious accident somewhere in Odogunyan, Ikorodu and begged him to come quickly to their rescue.

Without giving it a second thought, the pastor told Saheed to wait for him and dashed out of the church premises with his car.

As soon as the pastor left, the suspect was said to have stolen some valuable items in the church and not having enough, he also carried the new big generator in the church and was attempting to wheel it away when he was accosted by the neighbours, who challenged him. He told them the pastor had called him on phone to come and repair it, but when one of the neighbours called the pastor for confirmation, he instructed them to call the police.

Meanwhile, the suspect is still being detained at the station and the police said he would soon be charged to court.

I have said it times without number: Crime, fraud and corruption have come to stay, acknowledge it, accept it, seek more info about it, play with it, discuss it, laugh over it, but please, do not partake in it. Those robbers are senseless, to have attempted carrying a generator. Please them to Area F.

Actually It's simply the cycle of economics.
. . . >Pastor steals from . . >congregation who in turn steal from . . . >sinners who then go back and steal from . .

This type of robbery can only happen in one small upcoming corner-side church.
I can't imagine this happening in e.g. one of RCCG, CPM parishes.

The thief is a fool!. By the way, what valuable can such a man of GOD have? Meanwhile, why cant he steal like the likes of Igbinedion etc. How much will he sell the generator? He should be sent to Panti or Area F. His own kind of thefry, will never make any DPO leave his seat for him to seat on in any police station. Check out the kind of treatment that was given to Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello when he was arrested and detained? The DPO vacated his office for Iyabo to sleep (instead of sleeping in the cell). You can imagine how much Iyabo Obasanjo Bello stole from that impersonation deal?.

Who said this is a crime?

The church and its properties belong to God. God is our father and we have every right to our fathers property.
