senatordave1:The Turaki Taminu may be a good party man but his political clout is not yet widely felt. Nobody is talking about winning Buhari's on NE/NW, we are only looking for candidates who can reduce his winning margin. If you notice the APC now, they are trying to spread their tentacles to the SS/SE , not because the votes there can make them win anyway but because you cannot allow that region cast bloc votes for the PDP. |
We need a viable opposition to APC, PDP should not just dash PMB the presidency on a platter of gold. He should campaign for it. Whatever is the outcome today will either set PDP on an upward trajectory or put them on the path of oblivion. Wike should not destroy PDP, his Tambuwal preference cannot work. Tambuwal's ticket can't fly, he's not ripe for presidency. Nothing in his body language suggests that. Saraki is a personality I admire, (I think his shot at the Presidency was a miscalculation. It just made it look like all he was fighting for in the last 3 years was ti decimate PMB.) He will fly in the NC but the core North will look at him with one kind eyes. In the Southwest, they will even chase him with brooms. David Mark and Jang are jokers, they are only tired of sitting idly on the floor of the Senate. Atiku looks like a viable option, he comes from the NE where people are hopeful of harvesting some of Buhari's vote. Kwankwaso is the bomb, except for some personal doubts I have about him ( he is only a senator and is already trying to impose his son in-law as Governor, what more will happen when he becomes President. Also, we are not looking at change of government, we need someone who has a track record of creating jobs, leading peace moves and is a presidential material.) However, Kwankwaso has a sizeable following in the NW and this will be helpful for the PDP. Lamido and Markafi (Those guys are the only true PDP party men who are serious about the ticket.) They will make very good candidates especially Markafi who led the party when they were still in the limbo imposed on them by the choice of Sheriff. He is also from the NW, an addition to his feathers........ The problem of the PDP is now the SouthWest, the APC is giving them Osibanjo, what can PDP offer them?, If they mistakenly give them the VP slot then they will irk Igbos who will then vote APC with an eye on the Presidency of 2023. This issue would have been tackled during the convention by ceding the Party Chairmanship slot to a SWesterner but Wike and Co. thought otherwise. ...... In the coming election, SS and SE is secure for PDP to an extent, NC will be a shared vote BTW the both parties because of the recurrent security issues. With the exploits of PDP Guber candidates in the SW, it will be a 40% PDP to 60% APC sharing formula. In this primaries, they should find a candidate that will help them break into Buhari's vote vault in the NE and NW . |
Buy them stethoscopes and possibly allow them play with cadavers. ![]() |
Not mentally handicapped, I think morally handicapped would be more appropriate. SarakiBukola: |
Some people won't understand the game being played out here. The brothers are trying to be the forefront contestants so that either way, the family wins. |

The Op made no mistake, Umahi will comfortably beat all the aforementioned hands down especially with the division of APC in the state at the moment. However, it is important that we correct some notions. Elechi is better than Umahi on Education issues. Yes , Dave must have revamped structures in public schools but the state scholarship board have been moribund since 2015. Elechi aggressively gave people scholarship, LG chairmen under his administration built and equipped the new law faculty, he fastracked the permanent site of EBSU by building some structures there. The only dent on his achievements was the astronomical increase in school fees. If the Op is truthful, the first time Ebonyo came into limelight for education in the President debate cup and Olympiad stuffs, was under Elechi. Too, Elechi did a lot in infrastructure. Only that he was too analogue to beat some fast guy contractors, he also encouraged encouraged some of them like EDON. Let's not forget that Dave Umahi was a beneficiary of those contracts. Elechi built new rice mills in the 3 senatorial districts , embarked on Oferekpe water project, Ochudo city, Intl. Market and conference centre amongst others. He was above average. Even the inter street roads were built as virgin roads under him , he must be commended. His undoing was the Ezillo crisis and politics of acrimony. For Onu, he is a political featherweight in the state, much have changed since 2007, he is not a grassroots man. In fact, he will lose elections even in his Uburu polling unit. |
Government with all it's funding , you will see state universities that pay up to #1.5 million yearly to study medicine (check Edo state university, Iyamho). Even other state universities where school fees is not less than 300k. Esut pays #300k as developmental levy not school fees oh and people are spewing trash about churches. Even in Islamic universities (Alhikmah, Illorin) you need almost 700k to read law. The basic truth is that to give quality educations is costly and if you can't pay for it, settle for anything that you see in public university. OK, let's just say that covenant reduces it's school fees to #200k today and in the next 2 years, they fold up. It's the same people that are talking today that will say the church went to carry load that they can't carry. Biko, if falz thinks it's easy let him tell his daddy to open university for the poor and also become a pastor so that he will use offering to subsidize school fees. If he ever does it, I will start going to his church. How much do most of the people even give??, that will pay pastors, run church programmes like Shiloh and the rest, social services and then fund the universities?? Many Nigerians are good detractors, if they don't like the church they should stop paying offering nah. The same people will send their wards to Cornell University, to pay huge school fees but if they see their fellow Nigerian, they will feel that he is eating all the school fees. Abi, when a Professor in Babcock don't see his alert at month end, you will tell him that you are doing the work of the Lord by reducing school fees for the poor. As if you knew how hard he worked to defend his thesis. If you no fit go church universities, go to Islamic universities or other private universities, otherwise keep writing jamb and wait for God's time. |
I blame the CAN self, were there no killings in 2017 when they visited Buhari and he gave them #40 million transport fare?. Moral justice would have told them not to collect that money but no!!, they cornered it. Those guys weak me. As for Buhari, posterity will not remember him positively if he fails to come out neutral and do something about these killings. There have been killings before his coming ,but only in this administration have we seen killers with all boldness and temerity. Buhari is gently tearing the tiny price of fabric that holds this heterogeneous entity, with his inactions. How do he expect us to believe that these herdsmen attacks are not supported by Government when not even a single arrest have been made in Benue,Taraba and other troubled areas?. If these guys are from Libya, that is the more reason we should show them pepper like was shown book haram so that they will go back to the desert and tell their brethren that the lives of citizens are sacrosanct. The problem is that many will look at these killings sentimentally. Yesterday was for Shiite Muslims Today for the catholics Tomorrow for all of us # A threat to peace anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere. |
Like seriously ? . Ekjwueme family cant afford #90 million?. That is denigratory of the person of Pa Alex and all he represents. Someone who rejected being OBJ's stooge, owner of Nigeria's first Architectural company, who has sponsored many persons abroad to study . Even if the family couldn't find where to borrow #90 million, Anambara State Government would have waded in. doctokwus: |
For the past 3 years, the political atmosphere of the country have been ventilated by the fresh air of change. Many timed, the intensity of the airflow have increased and metamorphosed into winds that have uncovered certain myths. Coming from my early days, I learnt a very important Igbo adage that "ikuku kuo, ahu ike okuko" translated to mean that " when the wind blows, the anus of every fowl is exposed". Then, the anus of every fowl is open for examination and spectators would gladly judge whose anus has more dirt. To say the least, the wind of change we have enjoyed in the last 3 years have turned the country into the cinema, where the anus of some personalities have been on public display and the citizenry have become spectators.. President Buhari is our first victim of this wind. Before ascension to office, the name "Buhari" connoted sincerity, prudence, incorrigibility , principle and everything that seemed good. It was that name that kept people standing under the scorching sun to exercise their franchise and thereafter, trek from Bauchi to Abuja (lol). After all, the APC was just an advanced PDP group. Today, that name has lost it's flavour and its bearer decimated. The bible says that if the salt loses it's flavour, it is only good to spread on the floor for people to march on it, that same fate has befallen the integrity of the name "Buhari". As it stands now, only political jobbers, paid supporters , ignoramuses and a few passionate cynics are still standing with Buhari and it is glaring to them too that all is not well with the Buhari we used to know. These persons have only decided to cover the truth and spray perfume on feaces, but it still doesn't stop the faeces from smelling. From Enugu to Benue , stopping over at Taraba, Plateau and then finally Adamawa, the persons who lost their loved ones who have lost their loved ones to " terminator herdsmen" are not sure that the same Buhari who led his battalion against foreign invaders in the 80's is the same man who is playing "hide and seek" with the IG of Police while foreign herdsmen( as the government wants us to believe ) are on rampage. Now, with the non-prosecution of some high profile politicians whom it have been proven that they dipped hands into our commonwealth under the watchful eyes of Baba and the insignificant level of convictions the EFCC has made so far, it is not wild to think that the acclaimed body language of Baba have transformed into a body odour. Progressively, our Said Baba has mutated to Chain Baba and finally Kai Baba.. The next pullover for the wind of change was the Bourdillion and the host was Chief Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu himself. Baba Tinubu will always be remembered as one of the next big things to happen to Yorubaland after Awolowo for his behind the scene roles that led to the dethronement of the ruling party. This feat must have been his lifelong dream and after that, he was nicknamed the political headmaster of Africa. What have looked somewhat embarrassing as much as it seems funny is the Grace to grass story in less than 3 years which features the almighty Jagaban. Like a child's play, it all started in the NASS elections to the Kogi gubernatorial elections and today, the wings of the hitherto political grandmaster and sophiscated kingmaker have been clipped and restricted to Lagos State only.. Too embarrassing is this reality that Jagaban has failed to accept this reality and it has taken courage from Senator Remi Tinubu to admit that Baba have been used and trashed. Another big feature in this wind reality TV series is Baba Iyabo.;Chief OBJ. He remains the only king that have had the opportunity to crown other kings and this goes a long way to speak volumes of his personality. Baba OBJ , clever and cunning as he is , is the last person to stay away from controversy . Intact, he thrives in it but the last market he bought, he hasn't fully recovered yet. The words of OBJ are alpha and amen , he roars in Ota and his echo is heard in the far most ends of the country but recent happenings may be pointing to the fact, that he is fast losing his voice. Following his letter to the incumbent President to retire from politics, there have been an upsurge in political realignments and repositioning but the truth be told, these have not seemed to scratch the surface of the already existing Buhari Structure nor has it made the APC jittery. However, a nail cannot be put on OBJ's coffin yet because the final whistle haven't been blown and Baba being a cat with 9 lives may have other plans under his sleeves.. Finally, we must not forget to make mentions of some men who have defied this wind of change and are thriving in areas where Angela fear to thread. Worthy mentions are Senator Saraka, Speaker Dogara , Oshokomole and his ponmo cutting antics. If they can be steadfast to the end, thenthey need a pat on the back. We must never forget that in all these, the common Nigerian is the worst hit of this tsunami of change but whether we have been hit for the better or for worse is a discussion for another day and a matter of personal convictions. |
