You want to apply or are you a student?....

PoliticsPresident Buhari And The Law Of Karma. by 36pripa(op): 5:28pm On Dec 25, 2017
Wikipedia refers to karma as" a spiritual principle of cause and effect where the intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect).
President Buhari has on many occasions played host to karma and the effects are open to us to behold.

Late December 1983, December 31st to be precise, Gen. Buhari alongside his right hand men overthrew the Government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari and threw most of the politicians of that regime into jail, slamming some with outrageous jail terms that were unexplainable . During his nearly two year regime, he wield the big stick and hit whoever he deemed fit.
Unknowingly, he forgot that power was transient and when karma came around in August 1985, General Ibrahim Babangida, his Chief of Staff and trusted ally turned the table against him. He spent an unplanned two years in jail but our Buhari remained unremorseful for his actions, what a strong headed man he is?.

On March 9, 2010, General Buhari (Rtd.) called on the Federal Executive Council to impeach the then President, Musa Yaradua on the basis of his ill health and incapability to lead . He maintained that this method was the only viable option out of the political logjam the country experienced then.
However, two months later President Yaradua kicked the bucket and normalcy returned to the land.
While he did this, it never occurred to him that 7 years later , Nigerians would come for his head for spending over a 100 days for medical treatment on two occasions within 2 years of being in office. Karma had indeed paid him a suprise visit.

The latest episode of the karma drama played out on the issue of fuel scarcity. In 2014, following the scarcity of petroleum products across the nation during the Yuletide , the APC , it's chieftains and General Buhari as he was called berated the Government of the day . It didn't mind the circumstances that precipitated that situation, they were only concerned about the nonavailability of the product and it's tandem effects on Nigerians who would be travelling to meet their loved ones.
Two years down the line, when the Government had started counting as one of their achievements, the availability of Petroleum products during the yuletide and flaunted this to the jealousy of the PDP, karma struck again. Nobody envisaged that the queues would return this Christmas as the only bone of contention between PENGASSAN and FG, that would have led to fuel scarcity had been settled amicably. Then it happened, in the twinkling of an eye and the country was thrown into a frenzy, the Government lost it's voice as there was nobody to blame this time around, their sparkling record had been stained.

No one has heard from Alhaji Lai Mohammed, President Buhari has sympathized with Nigerians, the NNPC has blamed oil marketers for racketeering ,PDP has cashed into this misfortune at least to remove some cobwebs on their image and Nigerians are suffering the brunt. The common man doesn't care about how this issue will be resolved, all he wants to see is a situation where he can comfortably enter any petrol dispensing station and get PMS at 145 Naira. However, we will always remember that karma has visited Buhari another time , how many times more? , we cannot tell.
Christianity EtcRe: "Leave Us The Sheeples (LUTS)" Campaign: By Emusmithy by 36pripa(m): 12:26pm On Dec 24, 2017
This tithing stuff is overstretched and this is the attitude of Nigerians to pour their frustrations and grudges on the Pastors. I am only contributing here to make some issues clear.

First, the behaviour of some pastors have precipitated this stupid movement because they have left the principal tenets of Christianity to preach money and other frivolities.
But on the issue of tithing, I vehemently disagree. Abraham tithed, Jacob tithed and who am I not to tithe?. It is not a matter of what my Pastor does with it or buys with it , after all the tithe is to make meat plenty in the house of God.
If I will wake up at midnight to call my Pastor to pray for my Child or Wife or Parents, Why should I not tithe to him?. If God has been faithful to me, why can't I trust him with 10% of my income , if I deem it fit?. If you are angry about what your pastor does with tithe, just change your church and pay it elsewhere or better still, pocket it. Many persons are willing to pay and Pastors will keep being richer.
If na like that the thing dey easy, Go oven your own church and when you stay one year with only five members, na you go talk true.
PoliticsRe: Eight APC Governors Will Join Atiku By February 2018– PDP Chieftain by 36pripa(m): 10:53am On Dec 22, 2017
However I am still waiting for others like Bukola Saraki, Florence Ita-giwa, Yakubu Dogara, and even nothing is wrong seeing the president declaring for PDP. I believe that a big fish like Bola Tinubu is expected to declare for PDP soon than later.[b]. Too much of cartoon network is worrying PDP. I lost hope on the list when I saw President and Jagaban
Foreign AffairsRe: UN Votes, Rejects Trump's Decision On Recognition Of Jerusalem As Israel Capital by 36pripa(m): 8:07pm On Dec 21, 2017
The only thing I understand about this squabble for ownership for Jerusalem is because of it's religious relevance and the revenues accruing to it from pilgrimage. I believe that Trump, Isreal and Palestine should find better ways to solve this imbroglio.
Besides, I won't take sides on this issue because I may be biased in my judgement.
Let the historians roll out their scrolls and books, all I want is PEACE#.
PoliticsHerdsman Fire At NAF Fighter Jet In Adamawa . by 36pripa(op): 7:58pm On Dec 21, 2017
Olaleye Aluko , Abuja

Gun -wielding herdsmen have fired at the Alpha Jet and the EC 135 Helicopter deployed by the military in an attempt to resist the interventions by the Nigerian Air Force in the troubled communities of Numan and Demsa Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.
The herdsmen , who were dressed in black , reportedly attempted to bring down the fighter aircraft which were flown to fire “ only warning shots ” and not to kill any of the attackers .

Our correspondent had reported two weeks ago that the NAF , on the invitation of the Nigerian Army in Adamawa , deployed some fighter aircraft to support the ground forces in stopping the crisis .
The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information , Air Vice -Marshal Olatokunbo Adesanya , who confirmed the deployment of the air assets , had said it would be “ a continuous exercise .”

The police in Adamawa State also confirmed attacks by the rampaging Fulani militia on Dong and Lawura villages in the Demsa LGA, saying that many buildings were razed, scores were killed while many other residents fled the communities .
The police also said six police officers were killed in the attack between herdsmen and farmers.

Our correspondent learnt on Wednesday from a top air force source on the operation that the herdsmen attempted to bring down the aircraft .
He said, “ A lot of damage had been done in Numan already by the gunmen before the fighter aircraft moved in. We actually caught the gunmen doing more damage and they needed to be stopped . So , we fired warning shots ahead of them . They were with a vast number of cows and they moved the cows under a shed as they set more buildings in the area on fire .
“ At some point, the gunmen actually started firing at our aircraft . There was a bridge on that way to Jalingo , Taraba State, where they finally ran to . The Alpha Jet was not asked to bomb them . It did not actually carry bombs . We were on an internal security operation and a fundamental principle of such operation was the use of minimum force .”

The air force ’ s spokesman , AVM Adesanya , confirmed that the NAF aircraft sighted a large number of hoodlums .
He said, “Our intervention was based on a request by the 3 Division, Nigerian Army . It was not a full deployment . We rather diverted our air assets from the bases in Maiduguri , Borno State, and Yola, Adamawa State.
“ When our aircraft were called in, they sighted a large number of hoodlums . The hoodlums were dressed mostly in black . They were obviously causing mayhem. The whole idea was that the aircraft flew at low passage to cause the hoodlums to disperse . ”

PoliticsEfcc Vs Innoson : The Other Side Of The Coin. by 36pripa(op): 7:06pm On Dec 21, 2017
I am opportuned to be the least learned and exposed on some issues, I also understand that it is quite late to ruminate on the imbroglio above given that the Senate has lent it's voice, the court of public opinion has dealt a great deal on this matter and Chief Innocent have been released on administrative bail.
However on further reflection on the judgements abundant in the media , of which some are awash with tribal ,political and religious sentiments, I deem it fit to say that the real but have not been cracked and we are being more emotional than rational in our judgements.

Permit me to borrow this quote of Martin Luther King Jnr. which suits the situation we are facing today,
" Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality , tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly". Before I continue, I must also admit that I am no saint of any sort, at few occasions my sentiments have beclouded my rationality.

Chief Chukwuma is not the first person to be arrested in gestapo style since the inception of this administration as we have watched Dasuki, Ibrahim Zakzaky amidst many other personalities and recently Judges toe this inglorious path. The question that lies before us now is, "on these occasions of flagrant abuse to human right and divinity, what have we done?".

The best of our actions have being to whip up political, ethnic and religious sentiments on why an injustice should be allowed under our eyes because the victim is a yam eater, Yoruba afonja ,wawa Igbo, IPOB sympathiser or backward Northerner. The most sane of our stupid community would put up defences on how the President can do no wrong or how this Hollywood style should be accepted as it suits the Nigerian climate.
All our actions are geared towards heaping blames and curses on a few individuals and play tribal cards, while forgetting that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice anywhere. Yesterday it was the turn of the Hausas and Yorubas to have a taste of the society we live in, today it is the turn of the Igbos and I hope we enjoyed our doses.

Is it not surprising that the ENDSARS campaigns that lasted online only and alleged boycott of OLIC4 because of the involvement of Yomi SARS , have kick started reforms in the Police force?. Until we find our voices and come across party and ethnic lines to shout into the ears of the EFCC that " enough is enough" , we should all be ready for the second round of the booze that Magu will be passing around soonest.

Afterthought:
I am a supporter of the Anti corruption war and this post is not to demean the policies and efforts of the Government in that direction but I believe that whatever is worth doing, should be done right. EFCC haven't gotten a lot of convictions in their anti corruption crusade because what they are doing, they haven't perfected.
PoliticsOne Convention: Many Lessons by 36pripa(op): 10:09pm On Dec 10, 2017
9th December 2017 was looked up to as one of the moments that would shape the 2019 General elections and the future of the PDP. The convention has come and gone but therein lied many lessons.

=SOUTH EAST POLITICAL CHOICES
Again, the South East have proved to be too straightforward and more emotional than rational in their political dealings . Going into the convention, their cards were already laid bare for Secondus and everyone could see and . Even the South-South who presented a candidate were more sophiscated.
Also, it would be very interesting to see how their choice would affect their plot to clinch the vice presidential slot of the party in 2018.

=SOUTHWEST'S FOLLY, SECONDUS GAIN
It was pathetic to see purposed Omuoalabi's display such show of political indecision. Fielding seven candidates for a single position and their refusal to reach a consensus or a compromise after the North kicked against micro zoning ,must have portrayed them as unready to take home what ordinarily belonged to them. According to Governor Wike, they failed to do their homework and have nobody to blame.

=PDP GOVERNORS HAVE TAKEN OVER
Following the loss of federal power in 2015, the funding of party activities lied on the shoulders of the Governors. At the convention, they needed a return on their investment and that could be seen by the hijack of the party structure from hitherto Abuja politicians. It is now becoming clear the fears of Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff when he accused some persons of trying to hijack the party and has taught us that in every nonsenses, there might be some atoms of sense.

= PDP HASN'T REALLY CHANGED
A hard truth to believe for some people but it still is the truth, PDP hasn't really moved far from the pre-2015 politics. The Nation newspaper was first to report that there was a unity list flying around and late into the night, news also filtered that money running into thousand of dollars had changed hands . Many aspirants voiced this fear and the the results confirmed it only that now, "17 wasn't greater than 19".
This may repel many neutral Nigerians who had looked up to PDP as an alternative for the present administration and deter some politicians who were planning to dump their parties.

Finally, through the voices of many party leaders especially ,Chief Bode George and Governor Wike it can be deduced that the PDP crisis may have subsidised but not died down as seeds of suspicion have been sown . Also, the party would have more work on their hands to convince Nigerians that it is not a southern party and haven't lost it's nationwide flair.

These matters arising also should be resolved amicably amongst party members and concessions given before the APC convention for the ultimate price of peace, if they hope to reap from the harvest of defections from the ruling party.

PMB'S VISIT TO EBONYI STATE: AN ATTESTATION OF EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP.

On the 14th of November, 2017 , history was made and Ebonyi State is on the spotlight yet again.

Following the creation of this young state 21 years ago, she have struggled to gain relevance and carve a niche for itself in the community of states , who are her peers and those who have began this race a long time ago . In this eventful 21 years , the state have being on a forward march towards achieving the aspirations of her founding fathers who staked their lives and political gains for it's creation. The succession of leaders who have led this state have had one thing in mind, to separate the image of the average Abakaliki man from the "wawa symbol" that have stuck to him and precipitated marginalization even amongst their fellow Igbos. Looking back in retrospection, from Captain W. Feghabor through Dr. Sam O. Egwu, Chief Martins Elechi and presently, Engr. David Umahi , it is only true to say that by the standards of Nigerian Leadership, Ebonyi have fared above average.

However, one thing that have made Ebonyi Stand out and to be in the spotlight for the past two years are the unprecedented strides of an uncommon achiever in the person of Chief. Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi. A man who have defied odds to raise the common Ebonyi man from his place of obscurity in the scheme of affairs. For the past two years, he have surprised even his supporters by sailing through the turbulent sea of recession and still delivering the dividends of democracy bountifully. It is the uncommon character of this comrade that have drawn the President to visit this hitherto relatively unknown state, the first of it's kind in the last decade.

The man, chief Umahi have overtime proven that leadership doesn't lie in the size of the state coffers but in the size of the vision of it's leaders. He have proven himself in terms of Agricultural strides , infrastructural revolution, social interventions and economic empowerment for Ebonyians. He may not be a saint ,but his understanding that politics of calumny and bitterness doesn't pay have really helped maintain relative peace in the state despite the heat evolved by the Last general elections. Indeed, with the resources at his disposal, I dare say that he is in a league of his own and is setting a primary standard that will be used to measure the success or failure of future administrations.

Today, the presence of the President speaks volume of this man who have defied partisan lines to pitch his tent with whoever that will row the Ebonyi boat and to him, neither APC nor PDP but the general advancement of Ebonyi State is the greatest political affiliation. Given the reserved attitude of PMB and the many variables that could have militated against the friendship ties between the state and the Central government, the Governor must be commended for setting his eye on the ultimate goal and paying it's price.

Indeed, Akubaraoha is working and Ebonyi is on the rise.
