Synord:
5) Lil Kesh - This dude practically has little to nothing to offer musically.. With below par lyrics, childish delivery on topics relating to sexual acts and mostly noisy beats, one can say Lil kesh barely survived on the hype of YBNL ..This can be seen in his three singles released after his exit from YBNL,kojo, shele Gan Gan and fake love, all 3 singles not performing to expectation not forgetting his highly forgettable ( pun intended ) debut album, YAGI ...

4) Ycee - Zaheer as he is fondly called is another very overated act...His lyrical prowess can be no where compared to the likes of poe,ozone,Yung6ix and even Erigga..The act who has been using his rapsy voice to gain a edge ,may be surely talented but at the same time ,highly overrated compared to the crop of Rappers out here in Nigeria grinding..

3) Ice Prince - Former choc city act , Ice prince... I find it very hard to believe he actually won a BET award...With wack ass flows like ' I shit in twos ,poo poo...'. one cannot but wonder how the act has managed to acquire a large fan base and selling out shows ...

2) Davido
- Yes. ,Davido is very very overrated..Apart from the obviously poor vocal ability, we all know how he comes about his songs including his latest single. The artists has been using nothing but money, influence and connection to force his songs on Nigerians ..If u doubt me, search davido Tim Westwood freestyle on Google and see for yourself.

1) Mr Eazi - The most overrated artiste I know of as to be Mr Eazi.. With an astounding lack of musical surprise and monotonous delivery , How the act managed to gain a huge following with his weak lines and burns boy like vibes remains a surprise ..

These are the five most overrated artists in Nigeria and I hope they prove their talents soonest ..

Davido, Ice Prince over rated? Wake up bro!
May I bring to your notice that everything in life is all about the Grace of God. So, in music your work may be the wackest yet you're one of the most successful artists.

(FEAT. DRAKE)

[Hook - Drake:]
I'm the only one that get the job done
I don't know a nigga that can cover for me
Yeah, got some game from my day
So she might say she love me
She don't love me like she say she love me
Believe me, believe me
I'm that nigga, boy they love me in the streets
I'm not tryna find nobody else to beat
I'm the one they come to see because they all
Believe me

[Verse 1 - Drake:]
Yea, rip, rip, rip
It's been me and Young Tune off the rip
That's the man that put me in this shit
If a nigga Bleep with him, I'll put him down quick
Got a verse for anybody wanna talk about the clique
I've been takin' shit light, you don't wanna hear me trip
God damn, do y'all really know who you fuckin' with?
Yeah, I mean you can't blame me for wonderin'
Doesn't matter, could be winter or the summer
On the road, I do One Direction numbers, I don't fuckin' miss
Yeah, Stunna and Mack know
When Wayne was gone for eight months, we put this thing up on our back
And I was snappin' off on every single track though
Collect call from the boss like where we at though
I was like, "Hah, it's our time, nigga"
He left Rikers in a Phantom, that's my nigga
And I've been rockin' with the team, Tha Carter IX
And we YMCMB, waitin' on somebody to try us, nigga
Yeah

[Hook - Drake]

[Verse 2 - Lil Wayne:]
Lord knows I'll murder one of these niggas, yeah
Uh, His and hers Ferraris, nigga
One for me, one for my daughter, nigga
Waitin' for someone to test me like a Harvard nigga
I told her 2-23, two Michael Jordans, nigga
Come on, fight these shell cases like a lawyer, nigga
Find out where you stay, and act like we found some oil, nigga
Out of duct tape so when he prayin', I ignore the nigga
All I gotta say is sayonara, nigga
Drop dead gorgeous but the bitch ain't dyin' for a nigga
Where the real queens at? Shout out Capone and Noreaga
We can shoot it out and see who live to tell the story later
Diamonds in my Rollie face, cannot be exfoliated
They think I'm associated, I'm the one that orchestrated
Yayo get her ass whipped, whip that ass like horses racin'
Ain't 'bout what you walk away from, it's 'bout what you walk away with
Dead Presidents, them coffins vacant, I must be doin' somethin'

[Hook - Drake]

[Verse 3 - Drake:]
Had to get it poppin' off the rip
Rich young nigga that ain't never had to trick
Slim Thug flow but you know I like 'em thick
If she get a job at DOA, I drop her off a tip
I had to get it poppin' off the rip
I'm the one they tell ya been reppin' in the 6
Come into the city and ya niggas get to trippin'?
We'll take ya to the Scarborough Bluff and drop you off a cliff
Well damn... just be happy for the man
Nirvana, Coldplay nigga got bands
Ink from the money got it all over my hands
Goin' out to Houston spendin' all of my advance
V Live just took me for a cheque
"Drake you know I love you, you just took me outta debt"
Yes right now you are lookin' at the best
Mothafuck award shows and mothafuck the press like that!

[Verse 4 - Lil Wayne:]
Mothafuck the rest
When they jumped off the porch, I was stumblin' up the steps
I'd give what I collect before I give up my connect
It'd be a cold day in Hell, icicles made of sweat
One finger... slidin' 'cross my neck
Niggas know what that mean like they deaf
Nigga I'll fire this nina like it's her first day
On the job and the bitch overslept
Tune stay humble, nigga I'm a king
Need a horn and a drumroll
They throw mothafuckin' roses at my feet, nigga
I don't step on one rose
I'm the only one that get the job done
I don't know a nigga that can cover for me
Tape a couple kilos to the bitch stomach
She look like she got a bun in the oven from me
Preheat... believe me
All you gotta do is pay me every week
I had these bitches havin' babies every week
I'm the nigga, see me skatin' in the streets
Gone

(Believe me) [x3]

[Drake:] Rip, rip, nigga

my responsibility
Oh baby u know I only care about the way u feel lady
queen of my heart u are my world honey the reason that
I really want to make money, so I cannot be around.

Repeat chorus

most naija artist are overated, cos we celebrate mediocrity

Thank u for saying this. And also see how almost all of them are using copy and paste background beats. They all have key words they must mention these days to sale. Baby wine ur waste, money, bughatti, shayo, dance etc. No one raps or sings about real issues going on in this country anymore. At least 2baba, Wande & Mode9 tried to some extent. It's quite unfortunate tho undecided

All contemporary Nigerian "artists", (singers actually) are over-rated. But then, every culture or country has its own Stars.

Oga,Naija music is all about melody and d gbedu feeling..if u dey find lyrics, switch to people like 2face,ASA,nneka..etc abi u won find lyrics for mapouka or makossa music? Dt tekno song na groovy so I no see d wahala there..we have so many kinds of music worldwide..so all of dem no focus on lyrics alone..

I no go do it again, I no go do it again oh

If you get all Tecno lyrics one could hardly place finger on any with a meaningful sentence. Yes I know many would lash at me that regardless he's made it. Yea, he has, and I'm not hating. But that doesn't change the fact that he's highly overrated. He should be in the league of D Prince.

No hypocrite here, Mate. No one is saying their foreign counterpart is better. We all know they sing trash, so much trash as well. However, it's excusable if out of 10 tracks or songs with your name, only about 40% one can't relate with based on its high level of incoherence. What then do you make of a Nigerian artist just like that Eazi and Tecno that if we are to import all their lyrics here you'd hardly find a song with complete sense.

By the way, there's a huge difference between being vulgar and being incoherent. Some of the songs you posted up there were not incongruous but mere profanity. We've got Artists who are known purely for profane languages back in Nigeria and they're already known for that, Terry G as a bold example. No one is bringing him into this cos we all already know he's not there to give you music wey make sense, even him dey talk am. Meanwhile, if you give me 5 Chris Brown's songs that are sorta meaningless I would give you 6 that are meaningful. Can same be said about your guyz here?

Baba, why you taking this shiiiit personal?

Who good music help? Like for real!!!

Just name 1 artist that make "good" music in Nigeria and is as rich and demanded right now like Mr Eazi! Please I'd like to hear your answer.

If all of them start making good music, are you going to buy?

Have you ever bought a Nigerian Artist's song in your life?

It's crazy how many of ya'll think you have an opinion.

Do what ever pays the bill. If you like hear, if you don't well there are over 2 billion people in this world!

the fact is when I listen to our home music,I dont praise the musicians rather I hail the producers .what happened to our industry is that musicians evolved in cash flow, endorsement and recognition but d producers are d ones who evolved meaningfully, the producers are yhe pnes doing the main job in d music industry I tell u if masterkraft ,dj coublon or selebobo should drop a nice beat u will find d music so easy to write.buh some of naija artists dey try though(brymo, johnny drille, sean tizzle, rayce, solid star,2baba,flavour,vector,seyi shay etc)
shaa as far as my* sia furler*is still alive I am okay.

Synord:

My sister... Me and DMW artiste , Ichaba are pals...I know how hardworking davido is ...I never said he wasn't hardworking.

but he is overrated...How can people even compare davido to wizkid I don't get
why is wizkid better than davido? Beats? Lyrics? Voice? Or what?
If it's beats you have nothing to justify your claim because they work with good producers.
If it's lyrics they are no better than each other except wizkid of superstar album maybe and maybe joy in his last album
If it's voice, there are so many artistes like that and voice is not the only that makes you a good musician I didn't say singer.
They are all almost the same except few Brymo and this new guy Johnny drille

As I saw the thread,I was expecting no1 to be DAVIDO...so so overrated.what pain me most is when he sees whizkid as his rival!..what of..yemi alade and tekno,so overrated .

most underrated
solid star
brymo
sean tizzle
burna boy
styl plus
falz
faze
paul play dairo-
wande coal

I don't agree with u im sorry. Davido I believe may be abit overated bt he makes up with alot of drive and flow and for wat he lacks in talent.

Then ur list of underrated is off track. Exceptfor burna boy and wande coal. The rest dont have above average talent or flow or game.

Sean tizzle has nothing to sing, same hoes to faze, style plus hv monotonous sound. Etc

GetUMad, with the way you showcase your abhorrence for Nigerian artistes, I want to assume you are a fan of their foreign counterparts.

You don't like Olamide. He has meaningless lyrics. If you can analyse the wordings of 2 songs by Lil' Wayne and Tyga, then I will rest my case.

If you can't come up with even one, then you are just another hypocrite. No offense intended.
