So this morning me and my friend who is very good at arguing just about everything I say started talking about politics and we just found ourselves arguing about.. This... Is it money or power corrupts man the most.. So what do you all think?

Power corrupts, it can never be compared with money. Money buys all things but the one with power controls the one with money and can even make him lose his money. This is why wealthy people are after power acquisition but Powerful people don't need to seek monetary acquisition, money naturally comes with power.

Brother, never compare power and money. People spend money to acquire power but only a foolish man will give up power in exchange of money...

I think is Power. So many people have money but few have privilege with power. We can see example of how power is been used in Nigeria, from someone from prison, to a shoeless man to the present change scam.

First of all, what do you understand by the word POWER? Power is simply having the ability to do something.

Think about the word Empowerment that is used frequently in Nigeria these days. For instance, you hear Youth Empowerment or Women Empowerment and so on. They simply mean giving these group of people the tools and ability to do things they couldn't be able to do beforehand.

You can empower someone with MONEY, you can empower someone with KNOWLEDGE, you can empower someone with AUTHORITY. You can empower people with so many things.

So from the look of things, you and your friend were comparing Empowerment with money and Empowerment with authority.

Thereby, what you should be asking is what sort of Empowerment corrupts the human mind the most especially between money and authority?

Power can intoxicate you like alcohol. If you don't believe me, look no further than the wretched and hungry looking policeman giving you a dirty slap for not parting with your hard earned twenty naira for an offense you did not commit.
What about the NDA cadets who beat up a citizen because he thought one of them was beautiful.
In Nigeria, anyone who has a little power over you, from the check in counter at the airport to passport office, to the ministry can make your life difficult if you fail to conform to his rules.

There are two people than can humble a man with money, 1 A man with more money 2 A man with power. But there is only one person that can humble a man with power and that is a man with more power.

Power for sure, bcoz Money itself is a form of power. Others include political power, charismatic power, physical power etc
