This is what I suffer from. Can hearing aid solve the problem?
Just a layman... I have no idea..... my reasoning would suggest it's like vision problems.... some can be overcome by glasses.... some by surgery and some just can't be resolved. It would take a specialist to say .... no different with yours.... a specialist would have to examine then recommend if hearing aid will help. I'm kinda wondering why would they give you drugs .... that's kinda strange to me.... I figure it will do more harm than good. While on ears... to others... never ever be digging out wax from your ears.... that's a recipe for ear infections that can lead to smelly running ears and later on hearing loss. Those who have ears..................

I have been living with sensoryneural hearing loss, with tinnitus, for over 12years now and I'm telling you, life hasn't been easy. I don't use a hearing aid, because it's practically useless in my case, neither do I hear anything, not even my own goddamn voice. I just try as much as I can to read lips and that's it. I'd advise you, if your case is severe, please consult other audiologists before you settle for an aid, otherwise, it will just be an unnecessary waste of money. May God give you strength. One love brother and all others battling the impairment.

I use hearing aida also. But about those sophisticated ones hmmm the problem is that if they spoil where will u repair it.I will advise u go to Ibadan its cheaper there that's where I got mine. Abuja is expensive. All those one of 15 k may not be good for profound hearing loss due to amplitude and clarity of sound

I'm a tinnitus patient of over 25 year now. By tinnitus, I mean noise in single or both ears. Though, the real cause and solution is unknown. I had been managing this issue without the use of hearing aid for almost 25 years now. Since last year, things get worse. I could hardly perceived what someone is saying clearly. Right from onset, my ENT doctor prescribed for drugs such as Neurobion, Prednisolone and Vitamin B-complex, unfortunately those couldn't stop the noise nor improves my ears perception to sounds. Three weeks ago, I went for an audiometry test at a reputable teaching hospital in South western part of Nigeria. The doctor diagnose me of Profound hearing loss with tinnitus. He advised that I should purchase a digital hearing aid with sophisticated technologies that even work with phones. He made mention of products such as Siemens Signia, starkey hearing aids. Although, I had contacted most of these companies in nigeria and I received a shocker of my life. The prices of this aids were just too outrageous. The cheapest I heard of cost three hundred and fifty thousand naira (350,000). There are other products from companies such as widex and audifon, but my doctor warned me against them. If there is anyone who had encountered this ailment with relevant prescription or direction to the right dealers/sellers should please share your advise with me. Please, help a brother

They are very effective, only if they were made bespoke for your requirements......

Sorry dear,
Am also passing through same illness presently.
After series of audiometry test at Federal Military Hospital,Yaba(very close to WAEC building),Jibowu,Yaba in Lagos, the owner of that medical centre,a nice woman recommended a pair of hearing aid at a cost 350k each about 5 years ago,I could only afford one for my right ear which is worse than left ear,it actually worked for me,but the doctor advised that I should get the second one to enjoy the full benefit.I am yet to get the second one. So,I advise that, you visit the,Army Audiomedical Centre and get a professional advice if only you can afford it anyway. But,I bet you is not really a good experience. When you imagine someone greeting you,but because you coundn't hear his/her voice and probably not facing him/her to read lips, the person feel ignored if not he/she is not aware of your problem.
It is not funny at all.Well,am managing mine as much as I can till I get the second one.Learn to manage it for now until you can afford quality hearing aids.

I have a condition where my hearing goes dim, like a door in my ear was closed. And I have to close my nose and pump air into my ear for it to open, sometimes it works and I can hear clear but it doesn't take long and I have to do it again.
Is this some kinda hearing loose

My 2 year old son has an hearing problem too, so we started out to alot of test and false results. But I was finally told to visit the Nigerian army audiology centre Yaba. It's just the next building after military hospital. We finally got the hearing aids (semiens) for around 550k.
He has been wearing it since November 2016. There has been improvements.

So, we r many that have Tinnitus. Mine was as a result of auto accident where I sustain neck/head injuries. Though my case is mild to moderate, I wish I can hear well. I hope to have a foundation that cater for hearing loss patients. I will create a WhatsApp group where we can all share information, this will help us to coping with it. I will share d link here for people to join. As for d MTN Foundation, it's a scam..

it's only God that can heal you my brother. Seek the face of God first and you shall need no man made implement for hearing. Ear problem is very terrible, I say this because I suffered it before.
I felt unbalanced because there were no equal pressure in both ears. I was embarrassed . I was depressed. But, when I turned to God and asked him for forgiveness of sins and divine healing, I got healed. I pray that you regain your hearing just as me in Jesus name, amen!
