To all the people who get online and spew garbage about Biafra and the Civil war,kindly pick up a book or two, read from both perspectives,and compare with foreign accounts of the conflict, you will soon get a clearer picture.it costs nothing .
I read loads of trash everyday by people who have no idea of what they are talking about,it's appallingly, some of this people don't even realise that they are doing IPOB's work for them,because by posting half truths which can be easily cross checked,they get hereto neutral people to take sides with the facts,thus doing Igbos work for them.
The greatest travesty that the Nigerian establishment has done is to try to sweep the whole saga under the rug,not teaching the history in schools, and disregarding real opportunities for true reconciliation.those who try to forget mistakes of the past are doomed to relive it.this cuts both ways.
To point out a couple of such absurdities, the Nigerians attacked first the city of nsuuka,got as far as ninth mile and were rebuffed. The biafrans felt the best way to end the conflict was to get to Lagos(then the seat of power).
Kindly note in the months building up to the war,Gowon had virtually stripped the South of Military hardware.leaving Lagos vulnerable.
So they felt getting to the West and consolidating would make it a North/South conflict.
The expedition led by Major Victor banjo had a few trucks, a couple of APC's, and about 700 soldiers, the plan was hinged on the element of surprise. It worked briefly, the Mid west was pacified in 1 day with minimal loss of lives.the main action was at Agbor junction where some Nigerian police constables lost their lives.
When Benin was "'liberated'',they pushed on to Ore,where they blew up Nigerian APCs,and then stopped.
The next 3 days are the stuff of legend,Banjo maintain phone contact with both Ojukwu and Awolowo,whatever was discussed that made him to delay for those 3 days cost him his life.
In meantime, Gowon rushed to reinforce Lagos,sending train loads of soldiers down thru jebba to lagos to siege up Dodan barracks,led by officers like Col Omar Sanda(who later changed his name to Gen like Nwachukwu).the biafran having lost the element of surprise retreated, the first of many such.
The Mid west was not won by any staged battle,but by swift surprise in getting to Benin.,lastly the lower parts did see any fighting,contrary to accounts i see here how biafran killed isoko,uhrobo and itsekiri peoples. This is just plain false.
Many things can learnt from the truthful accounts of the saga,foremost is War is never an option,but you must defend your self if you are threatened.
I could go into the little nuances but I will stop for now,please stop doing Igbos work for them,that is not the way to defuse an ideology.
Peace to all.

QUESTIONS FOR IPOB

When Ojukwu was here and he declared Biafra, he was a governor of the East, he had a territory he could control, he had provisional secretaries and all that under him but all these boys talking about IPOB or whatever, what do they have? They even tell you they have supporters but who are their supporters or are they keeping it secret? Let me tell you, let it not be like the support France gave to Biafra. France will never come out in the open to say we support Biafra, they never even recognized Biafra in the United Nations. So if you are not strong don’t dare anybody and even if you are strong, the best thing is to use your might and negotiate. There was a time Ojukwu could have negotiated and got something, he would have got a confederation. During that conference Ojukwu said Biafra was not negotiable and that is why the things fell apart. It was he who said no power in Black Africa can destroy Biafra and when the chips were down he was on his way to Ivory Coast, leaving us to die. So you can see! Let no body be taken for a sucker; that is what I am telling the youths. Where is the land, the terrain you will put your troops on? Where are the people you are going to lead out of Nigeria? Is it Ebonyi people who most of them don’t believe they are Igbo to start with? There is only one snag about it, if Abuja will stop this nonsense about unitary system of government. When Ironsi was in power he had decree no. 45 by which he made Nigeria unitary government not federal government and the north killed him because of the unitary but no sooner than Ironsi was out of the way, the same north under Gowon started practicing unitary system.

the winner takes all,i laugh in igbo,how come yorubas and hausas never occupied our lands and make us tenants,install emirs and obas and make us farm the lands for them,rather we are the one who own the numerous sabo garis in the north and with a reasonable presence in the heart of the southwest.you are but a butterfly who thought itself a bird.

after 15years if something valueable is found on the land,can she return to reclaim it??....

Biafra didn't produce anything during the war, stop deceiving yourself.
Everything biafrans used were bought with Naira including Mercenaries from SA, France etc. before Awo devalued it and biafra could no longer purchase anything

Those weapons were antiques brought in through the same route Ojukwu fled with

Another stupid lie born out of envy and propaganda.

Every innovation was home made, France my foot.

A lot of people will read this thread with a certain wish that that war occurs again so that they can be witnesses. Many of such people cannot even withstand a communal clash or a single robbery incident. Luckily though, there's not going to be another biafran civil war. You rats who line up on the internet everyday throwing tantrums usually amount to very little or nothing in the real world. Enjoy yourselves.

Piece of shit. Looks more like a ww1 tank relic. This machine can withstand assault by a mac5 machine not to talk of a bomb blast. Also in this high tech tech world, I wonder how much high tech gadgetry the invented and used for this machine.
Nice effort though but I'll Advice the guys that built this should focus their sweat more on developing tech machines and softwares for the nation's manufacturing industries rather than war machines

Who gave the designs? Who masterminded the technical know-how?
The truth is gonna be out some day..Bros
Why dont we have such advancements today? I hope you dont consider Innoson as one
@Keneking, you needn't argue what you are not exactly sure of based on thoughts and speculation.
War is not good if fought for the wrong reasons.
My father fought in that war and he told me his first hand experiences.
Most of those engineers went to school abroad. Check and discover that most uni graduates between 1950 too 1980 were English Uni graduates and were well schooled.
What of the bucket bombs, ogbunigwe, we're they also imported?
Know for sure that war burgeoned ingenuity in great minds just like tough times birth ingenuity in great people.
The Ojukwu bunker was also built by the French?
We don't have such advancements because they were never sustained or passed on as those engineers went underground after the war, or do you want a former Biafra veteran be seen teaching people how to make bombs after the war?
Even today, the vestige of the advancements can be seen;
Though they're being channeled wrongly by some of our horrible brothers.;
