Not all muslims are terrorist. We only tend to remember the ones done by muslims. What about the ones in ireland that have been terrorising the UK for decades? they are catholic, and they hated anglicans. Did you know that the word "fundamentalist" was first used to describe christian separatists in america in the early 1900s? They were also called extremists.

Terrorism has a very long history and has been rooted in every society known to man. Now, so-called "Islamic terrorism" is not islamic at all, they just happened to be done by muslims and their reason for doing so is not far fetched. They are doing it because of percieved oppression, i said PERCIEVED! and occupation of their lands (i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan etc).

Now, Islam as a religion urges its followers not to tolerate oppression and aggression. This is where Islam comes in. But you know america and the west are a strong force and these terrorists are not match. They're real target is the western governements, but they can't touch them. So they cowardly kill civilians because they are easy target, not because they gain anything from doing so (certainly not any reward from God). How many of you know that muslims are not allowed to engage women, children, the elderly, kill animals or even destroy trees and buildings unecessarily when engaged in war?

And those verses quoted refer to the oppressor. You don't know what the early muslims were put through,

1. If you are a christian and read the Bible, you will have a better understanding of the issue in the middle east. The Arab nations surrounding Israel forget one thing, they can't and will never defeat Israel as a nation no matter how small Israel is on the map. Israel is as deadly as America.

2. In case of Nigeria, the signs are showing that the country may end up divided. The people in the east are fighting for their right and survival and not killing their fellow brothers and sisters but what are the extremist groups in the north fighting for   NOTHING and not only dat derive joy in killing their own brothers and sisters just to drive their message home.

3. As a Nigerian and being from the south-south origin, I will vote for Nigeria to divide because enough is enough and tired of the madness emanating from the northern part of the country but as a christian I will ask all Nigerians to observe prayers at their own convenience because if what had happened so far in Nigeria since civil war happened in another country, I am sure that country would have gone on another civil war and maybe this time divided.

4. The northerners have ruled this country, the westerners have ruled this country, let the southerners rule the country and see what difference will be made.

Much as I hate to be tribalistic, I cannot help but ask myself; why do issues foreign to "Niger- Area" emanate from the same area of the country- both locally and internationally? Issues of revenue sharing is for example understandable. The issue of corruption-we are shouting about it. Why should foreign religions, ideas and mindset become someone elses wahala. Christianity may not have originated from here, neither did Islam. Why the stupidity?? When are we going to start thinking for ourselves. We need to put on our thinking caps.

this is an issue concerning Nigeria so I will only talk locally. Since I was born in Nigeria, I have never heard of any unprovoked violence started by the Christians in Nigeria in any part of the country, why is it hard for the ones in the north (moslems) to at least derive other ways than violence when they feel they need to drive a point across to the people.

Insurrections by its members in 1980 in the northern city of Kano and in 1992, capital of Adamawa state, also in the north, left thousands of people dead on each occasion. The number of its followers is not known but estimated to run into several thousand.

I think we should drag ourselves to the International Court if we're not honest and bold enough to confront our glaring differences and start discussing the Terms and Conditions of going several ways. Haba, if you marry someone for the past 49yrs, and for every single day of those years has been heartaches, fighting, vilolence and killing of your children, I think it's only sensible to separate even if you don't believe in divorce.

Our continuos living together seems virtually impossible despite all the patience, tolerance and forgiveness of all these years. We should start a national debate on this issue or something.
