Igbos Due North - An Informal Census by jbbalarabe(m): 10:03pm On Apr 17, 2017 |
*Igbos due North - An Informal Census* An *informal Census* was conducted by an Igbo Organization. The Group discovered that there are *Twenty Million Igbos living in Northern Nigeria*, out of which Sixteen Million are permanently resident and Four Million are Economic Migrants moving on seasonal basis. In addition, they found out that *there are Four Million Northerners living in Igbo Land,* out of which Two Million are permanent residents and the remaining Two Million are Economic Migrants switching on seasonal basis. What is intriguing was that _*the entire Four Million Northerners living in Igbo land are uneducated menial laborers and petty traders*_: viz watchmen, Cattle attendants in abattoirs, Cobblers etc. Consternatingly, there was *a single account of a Tiv Man*, a Christian, from Benue *who built a Petrol Station along Enugu bye-pass in Enugu State*, however, on the day of commissioning the indigenes discovered that the Station belonged to a Northerner and insisted vehemently by interdicting its operations , *that the said Station must be sold to an Igbo Indigene before it would be allowed to operate*. Today, throughout Nigeria, *it is only in Igbo Land that no other Nigerian is allowed to gain admission into their Universities*, Employment or Political appointments in their domains. Yet, in the North and the South West *there are States that have appointed Igbos* as Commissioners and Advisers eg Lagos, Kano, Yobe, Borno etc. As big as *the Onitsha International Market, no other tribe is allowed* from Yoruba land or the North to have even a corner shop, yet they are in all Markets across the North and South West without any hinderance. Anyim Pius Anyim, is the only SGF in Nigerian History that has *100% Igbos as support Staff* in his Office. Is he an SGF for Nigeria or Biafra? Igbos should be persuaded to *learn to tolerate others* !!! *One Love Nigeria* //Forwarded as received. 4 Likes |

Huh, una wan start tribal e-war again. Let other tribes in Igbo Land play their games well, just like igbos did and prosper in other people's land. Sikena. Except we want to lie to ourselves, igbos get mind when it comes to doing Business. They take BIG RISK and can die for what they believe even if it's wrong. Igbo kwenu. 3 Likes 1 Share |

jbbalarabe:It's interesting how you just claim an unreferenced source and make assertions on igbo people. Have you lived in any eastern state? Have you tried to invest in the east before? Or you rely on an unverified information to draw funny conclusions. Get your facts straight. 3 Likes |

If there are 20 million Igbos living in the North, Igbo must be competing with China and India in terms of huge population. Probably we are 800 million people home and abroad. 5 Likes |

Abooki and statistics are two things that never mix well. For abooki, 200 is the same 200 million. Whats the big deal? Thats exactly why nigeria quoted population is a farce. 3 Likes |

jbbalarabe: What is the name of the organisation that conducted the informal census?, when and where was the census carried out? What was the name of the Tiv man (who change to be a northerner during opening ceremony as you said)?, Was the land bought from the right source by the tiv man or the northern that the community did not know how they sold their land to?. What's the name of the filling station & the community who denied him opening him station? Universities is the east has no easterner from the west although they are very small, during my days i witness them. You lied on this or your census is not correct. Igbos don't dash people shops but rent or buy, so if you don't have money to buy forget it. Why not visit bank & tell them to dash you money because your hausa or Yoruba. Markets in every where in the world is about money changing hand & no business man will see who is ready to pay his price and refuse to sell. Igbo's rent their shops in kano, Lagos, Abuja etc even convert swamp to international market like trade fair (ASPAND) & Alabama international. After smoking Oshogbo weed some people will post rubbish. 4 Likes |

Even though I don't engage in this type of tribal bashing which is very childish, let me tell you two VIPs from the Southwest that graduated from UNN, Nsukka; The Late Ex-Gov Lam Adesina High Chief Ade Adeojo. Although, it's true that the SE is the zone with the least population of non-indigenes, there are also other Nigerians living there e.g NYSC members, Police officers, Military & Paramilitary officers, petty traders and bankers. Some of these people have married Igbos and are doing well. ZombieTERROR: |
