Sensible man indeed. Your sister Patience "Kleptomaniac" Jonathan, should have been the best to say this when she was in power and busy walking around like a proud peacock. She should have used her influence to do something positive for the Nigerian woman, but what did she do?she silenced all other females because she wants to be the cynosure of all eyes only. I miss you Mariam Babangida. Now that was somebody that really meant well for Nigeria women. 3 Likes |

This is dumbest thing I heard him say. All this political pandering is pointless to actual development. Instead of worrying about policies and philosophies he's worried about the sex of the candidates. Keep in mind Senator Bruce is same guy who bashes quota system but has no reservations having one based on gender. Adding more women won't turn Nigeria into second world nation. There are woman in politics in Nigeria. There's no law prohibiting anyone from running if they are best candidate they will win. Lol why 35% instead of 50% since the ratio in population is closer to 50:50. This just shows how arbitrary such measures are. |

Ogar Bruce you for kukuma tell us say you want make Naija turn into baby mamas factory. This is really clueless. Our women way of reasoning is far far way backward. UK, Germany & France are sane climes. In Naija women go as far as sleeping with political godfathers to acquire political powers. Hope this guy isn't a women wrapper?

What's foolish comment from Ben Bruce. Mr. Bruce, if I may ask, who gave you and your male colleagues any chance in becoming politicians? If nobody did, women do not need concessional political careers. Everybody knows that both genders are equal. Whatever women they have to earn. Thank you. |

Online Senator is at it again seeking relevance. When u hear this man speak, you will think a reasonable man is talking. A senator elected to represent the interest of his people still talks like hoi poloi! To his issue now, nobody is actually stopping women from vying for elective positions as public offices aren't gift given on a platter...you must work hard to be elected into a position. Also, I think women harbour natural envy among themselves which actually stop most of them from achieving greatness...secondly, those who have managed to get into elective positions haven't been outstanding. Eg, Olubunmi Patricia Etteh Murray Bruce should worry more about sponsoring bills than women being in politics! |
