It is sad. Sad sad sad. I have heard of marriages in the past that were arranged...and someway somehow the couple found a way to bring love into the mix.

it might be out of duty or responsibility....but there was a chance things worked out fine

But in this day and age...unless the guy is fully loaded with all the casheesh or a cassava she needs as a consolation, then he should be prepared to welcome a cheating wife who will find solace of love in the arms of a guy she admires

I would rather think that the Minister who presided over this wedding should have acted differently. Disregard the already prepared social jamboree and ask both to go home, think over it again and come back on Monday morning for a full consent marriage if need be. It's a long journey and it is not even in the interest of the man to proceed further with this woman, even if he had paid her school fees or whatever. What will you do with a reluctant partner in the journey of life? Can you carry on in this manner and for how long before you are weighed down completely? It could be frusturating.
