God! This country is just some specialised shïthole! How do such medication expire in storage and there's no repercussion for d idiots in charge who failed to distribute them? The Minister speaks boldly without accepting responsibility and still remains in office?

I am a stakeholder in this, don't mind them. No drugs expired. They sold off those drugs and explained that they were expired and burnt.

Nigeria is a special kind of wicked place ..Nigerian Doctors and pharmacist turned free HIV drugs into business where they expected those who the drugs were donated for to pay upto 45,000 monthly to gain access to the drugs ..Many who couldn't afford to pay the extortionist were left to die ...We always shudder when we hear someone beheaded another for money rituals but in reality 70 percent of Nigerian professionals are also money ritualist

Living Hope Organiztion (Livhorg):
Jude C. Munaonye
Location: Umuahia, South-East, Nigeria
Studio Guests: Jude C. Munaonye, Norah Akudo Owuama
Contact Details:livhorg@yahoo.com; +2348035482398

Jude C. Munaonye worked as the Personal Assistant to Dr. Ezekiel Imo the then Commissioner of Health, Abia State until he got very sick in late 1999. In early 2000 he was diagnosed with Human Immune Virus (HIV) and he decided to openly declare his status to raise awareness.
He was unable to access ARV’s and regularly fell ill because of his HIV status. His family members isolated themselves from Jude and severely beat him without mercy. Friends, church members, his community and even his place of work also isolated him for fear of catching the disease.
Summoning courage from his only supporter, his blind wife whom he got married to in 1995, he survived the intense situation and established Living Hope Organisation to de-stigmatise HIV and educate people that it is not a death sentence if treated properly, including a good diet and cleanliness. Jude has facilitated the establishment of 25 HIV/AIDS support groups in Abia State.
Jude C. Munaonye is actively:
i) championing home care and community based support groups that educate HIV/AIDS persons on how to live a healthy life,
ii) de-stigmatising and re-orientating communities in terms of associating with HIV persons,
iii) educating and monitoring the use of ARV drug for members of the support groups, and
iv) teaching people how to look after family members that are HIV positive.
He is possibly the most significant person to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in Nigeria.

This is not about Lugard.
The day the regional leaders signed that Nigeria should be an independent country in 1960, lugard was absolved from any blame.

Someone called us, Nature's spoilt brats, Nature's prodigal sons and daughters, unfortunately we always live up to that tag. Shameful, the minister mentioned it like it's just a clerical error whereas it is a criminal negligence of duties, those culpable should face firing squad. #MYTAKE

The reason why the drugs were left to waste is because under both international and local laws, it is a crime to sell HIV medication. The WHO in conjunction with USAID provides these drugs to various countries and the drugs are funded by the government of the host country where it is delivered to. In this case, the $3.2m which was allocated and paid for these drugs hs been wasted simply because we have a shameless minister who shamelessly came out to admit the waste and a failed system that couldn't coordinate manpower to effectively distribute these drugs nationwide.

So you see, even living with HIV in Nigeria now is a problem in the sense that you cannot access free HIV medication. But that can only be a problem if you do not know HIV IS TOTALLY CURABLE.

How? Colloidal silver or ionic silver which the healthcare system won't like to here about.

you are blessed for seeing the big picture

Instead of the ministry to allow it to expire they will:
1. Organise an open show "free hiv medicals" then collect like 2.5k - 5k for registration. Then people will sing the ministry/gov. praise.

2. Give it to private hospitals (owned by "them them"wink then recommend people to such hospitals

All I see is a cover up, logistics my foot.

Thats what we get when we put a square peg in a round hole and issue of God fatherism and the so called quota system in employment.
Somebody with a diploma in islamic studies without any knowledge in computer will be put incharge to head a whole federal agency just because he is filling thier quota.
Naija we hail thee. grin grin
