Under Review: Claim By Arewa Elders That North Is 75% Of Nigeria by MetaPhysical: 1:39am On May 19, 2017
Rarely do I open thread on political discourse, my forte is culture and historical roots. I quite understand the interwoven relationship between politics, culture and history of a people. I am creating this thread to open deep discussion on political claims by Arewa Elders that North is 75% population and land mass of Nigeria. This claim is often associated and branded for ethnic advantage by the Arewa Political body and it goes to say that Hausa/Fulani has thus enshrined itself as the voice and authority of Northern Nigeria, and by extension, the entire Sovereingty of Nigeria. So in this review I attempt to question the ethnic make up of the so called 75% and disrupt the political power embedded in the Arewa brand.

Here is a list of Nigerian Tribes and Their States. There are a total of 372 tribes/Ethnic Groups in Nigeria. Attached is an MS Word Doc containing the list of tribes.

In the next post I separate Tribes found in the Northern Nigeria from the rest. This will represent the people found in States in the NW, NC and NE regions, and what the Arewa Elders sum as Northern Nigeria. It is worthy of note to also point out that they have rejected the zoning policy and refuse to recognize any zonal sections in their region. This does not call for a counter in the South, but it does reinforce the argument for a ethnic-based restructuring of Nigeria.

The 75% North consist of the following ethnics and their states/lands.

What does this mean. Why do you want ethno states.

OP and his source are a joker why separate Awori from the entire Yoruba tribe. Check your Google and wiki it tells you Awori are a Yoruba tribe.

He only separated Awori from the Yoruba tribe. All other sub groups like Ijebu, Egba etc he added into the Yoruba tribe but Wikki says Awori are a Yoruba tribe.

My question is this, Which Arewa Elders; in which forum was this declaration made? Can we see the communique? You know what I discovered over these years? We just sit an help the hausa fulani man do fake researches and empower them with non empirical facts that empowers them to want to dominate us. For instance, the " Born to Rule" phrase has its origin fro the south. The northern person never gave it a thought until the southerners brought it to them that they say they are born to rule guess what; the northerners says " thanks we didn't event think of it" so they took it. Many southerners have posted fake stories on NL and everybody ran with the stories. Stories that empowers the north to want to see itself as very powerful. We help create the monster that is consuming us through fake stories.

The problem of the north is education
How can you call 75% of a geographical area north?

LAND GRABBERS!

As in ehn. Btw I believe If you divide this country into equal halves some of north central should be in the south. By allowing the Core north to refer to the middle belt as NC we have allowed them to wield an influence over the south yet the people of the 'north central' would not benefit anything from being tagged north. The core north only remembers them as northerners when they are trying to exert influence over the rest of a Country. The likes of Oyedepo, Lagbaja, Paul enenche who are all from the 'North central' would never see themselves as northerners so we either divide the country by ethnicity which would see the likes of Southern Kwara returned to the South west or have the country partitioned into equal halves by mere geographical considerations and nothing more..
