"It's Either Restructuring Or Referendum" - Ezeife by Masterclass32: 5:14am On May 24, 2017
ENUGU— FORMER governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeke Ezeife, has said that it is either Nigeria is restructured into six geopolitical zones or it goes into referendum to decide if the country will remain as one country or disintegrate.

Ezeife also said the Southern Peoples Assembly, SPA, will soon meet to take a decision on whether the people of southern Nigeria will participate in 2019 elections if the country was not restructured.

He went further to pre-empt that it is possible the people of southern part of Nigeria will boycott the election if President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration does not restructure the country immediately.
In fact, Ezeife gave Buhari’s government an ultimatum to immediately convene an urgent national summit, which its agenda, he suggested, would be to adopt a framework for the inevitable restructuring.

Ezeife made the statement, yesterday, when he chaired the First Chinua Achebe International Conference organised by the Institute of African Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

At the conference, the Obi of Onitsha, HRM Igwe Alfred Achebe, said the late prolific author, Chinua Achebe, would always be remembered by Ndigbo for projecting the Igbo world view, the history, culture and cosmology.

Igbo, first settlers in Ile-Ife—Igwe Achebe

Achebe said the Igbo society existed beyond what Achebe recorded in his books, disclosing that a recent history book has ascribed to the Igbo as the original settlers in Ile-Ife and whom Oduduwa met, other than the present contest between the Ife and the Ugbo sections in Yoruba land.

Igwe Achebe, therefore, tasked the academia in the University of Nigeria to conduct further research that would either authenticate or dismiss the new study on Igbo origin and settlement.

Most speakers at the opening ceremony of the three-day international conference freely used Chinua Achebe’s book entitled, “Things fall apart” to satirize the present political and economic crisis in Nigeria.

Ezeife said: “Today, the centre cannot hold any longer in Nigeria. Are we going to watch things fall apart and allow Nigeria disintegrate?

“Today, all speeches have been going in the way of referendum. It has come to a stage where it’s clear that if nothing is done, there will be no more Nigeria.

“My appeal, therefore, is that all hands must be on deck and all brains at work, otherwise the country will exist no more. First, there must be restructuring. After that and we don’t like it ,then any other things can come .”

Director of Institute of African Studies, Prof. Emeka Nwabueze, said the conference was a celebration to honour the sage, Chinua Achebe .

Nwabueze said the institute decided to host the first Achebe conference since Achebe was a member of the university community.

He disclosed that all institutes of African Studies in the world will converge in UNN by November this year to draw a blueprint on how best to teach African studies.

Other persons who spoke at the conference included the former Governor of Imo state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim; former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Viola Onwuleri; veteran actor, Pete Edochie, among others.

The present administration is not ready to restructure Nigeria. I support all regions who anticipate for restructuring to boycott election 2019, I hope that will be the beginning of the struggle

all this people should just shut it,none of this request can be granted through executive order except by legislation, so elect people with such view as member of houses from top to bottom, then we move from there.

At this point, I believe our mind is made up on leaving Nigeria also known as zoo or the biblical Egypt. Although we may consider staying back if the acclaimed owners of Nigeria I.e the backward a.b.okis and their supporters and slaves, are smart enough to make restructuring attractive to all constituent parts and for every constituent part to control their destiny and progress, then we may consider staying back but anything else is BULSHIT & WE WONT TAKE IT!

[b] Funny clowns. Boycott the 2019, who cares? You 'restructure whiners' or whatever you called yourselves are funny and you think you are smart. When your silly incompetent brother was the president, you didn't shout restructure because the status-quo at that time was very good, you clowns benefited from it. The north was shortchanged and nobody said anything about the gentleman's agreement in place(a northerner completing yar'adua's term), instead we saw how you hypocrites supported the incompetent man in 2011. Nobody never forgets. Even when that old ugly man(obasanjo) was the president, nobody from the south said anything about restructuring, and now everybody thinks they are smart. Atiku can say whatever he wants and tell you whatever you guys wanna hear, but an average northerner knows why Atiku is screaming about 'restructuring'. And that man(atiku) is not influential here, he and his words don't influence anybody in the north.

Nigeria WON'T be restructured, and you fellas can do you worse. If you want a restructured Nigeria, then you have to wait when you are the majority in the NA.

And if Nigeria should be restructured, it will definitely be at our terms, that's when we feel like doing so. You can't blackmail the north with your silly threats. We know were we stand and we know why ya' hypocrites are shouting 'restructure Nigeria'.

Long overdue.....

Restructuring is the first step to disintegration.

It will solve all our problems. Afterall, the World needs some growth in the number of countries. Let there be more countries......

The painful truth is that the core North is the only Problem with Nigeria's Unity cos they harbour evil and practice evil as ideology.

Their arrogance knows no bound, acts as if they are God that created this part of Africa.

Sometimes I Wonder why Orka's coup didn't materialise.......

I know I will probably get attacked here but why are the Igbos now suddenly asking for Biafra and Restructuring after the GEJ Administration that favoured them with appointments etc. It is known Yoruba's were the first set of people to clamour for Restructuring.

They never asked for this during GEJ era, it is now that Buhari's administration is not really favouring them they are now clamouring for Restructuring and Biafra.

Not that restructuring is not the answer but why are they suddenly clamouring for it now?

Mr Ezeife restructuring or referendum is not d problem, d problem is dat greedy politicians like u have refused to restructure ur minds from looting/stealing of public funds. Ezeife is part of d political class dat looted/Stole public funds meant to develop his region/State. Even if Biafra is actualised pple like dis man needs to stay off d govt cos his likes might turn Biafra to war turn South Sudan cos of their greed.

Norhing can stop an idea that has taken root. The worst that can happen is that restructuring of Nigeria will happen, the best that can happen is a UN supervised referendum and election.

We are getting there. Even likes of Atiku and co know it is time

What about BZM? When did it start and what was it's focus on

What about IPOB? When did it start and what was it's focus on.

News Flash: All of these group began before Buhari became president and ALL the group was focus on Biafra.

Hell IPOB that you all moan and wail about actually sent a letter to GEJ in year 2013 asking him to divide the country.

Lmk guess Buhari was president in 2013 correct?

Honestly you people are disgusting as hell. I've never seen a tribe as disgusting as you people. Tufiakwa!!

Will you shut up, fine MASSOB has been in existence since Obasanjo days but never has this country heard the loud noise of Biafra like this in Buhari Administration since 1966 when Biafra was declared. Majority of Igbos never really subscribed to MASSOB agitations during GEJ era, it is now every single day we hear Biafra this Biafra that, majority of Igbos are now clamouring for Biafra, you guys are just simply hypocrites.

Will you shut that your miserable Mouth. If majority of igbo never really subscribed to Massob agitation then why was it's membership increasing till the point it had headquarters all over igboland , in addition to extending to create both BZM and IPOB which are both equally successful groups
I know you will never admit to it but you know deep down what am saying, you guys simply hate Buhari and detest him been your president that's why the clamouring of Biafra has been an all time high now since the first declaration of Biafra in 1966.

Oh while I'm at it, IPOB was one of the fastest growing radio during GEJ era hence the reason they were at to boycott the election in both SE and SS they claimed go have high listeners. Finally, your illiterate leader Buhari increased their population by single handily bringing more attention to the group. There was a reason GEJ ignored every thing from Nnamdi Kanu despite the multitude of insults he berated at both him, NOI and pretty much every igbo in GEJ Administration. Buhari like the illiterate that he is came into picture, decided to play macho man and single handily jumped up an already successful group to the fastest growing group in Nigeria now. Thank you Buhari for his illiteracy and stop trying to use his presidency as an excuse.

Oh why you calling hypocrites when you yoruba are exactly that. From your own fucking mouth, you stated "yoruba were the ones that asked restructured first" yet when Buhari came into picture and your sibling is the VPN, immediately yoruba became the biggest antagonist against anyone asking or wishing for restructure. Now that the north is dealing with una and treating your VPN and the rest of your leaders as mere rags, all of a sudden, Yoruba don join the restructure bandwagon again. Yet you dare ca others hypocrites. At least Igbo have always msintained the fight for biafra and not once, have thay changed. But for yoruba, when things aren't favoring una,,you screech "south unity and restructure" bUT when you think it's favoring una, you became the guard dog of Nigerian existence as it is right now. common get out of my face.
