If you require it for mobility purposes, get a portable air conditioning unit.
Picture attached (it must have an elephant nose to expel hot air)....

Very very durable. And it truly pumps real cold air conditioning chill.
Some have a bowl slotted within to collect water from condenser, while others spit water out through the elephants nose....

I disagree with you. For someone who can only afford one cooling unit and needs it in alternate rooms at different stages. It is a cost effective way of not getting fried from the heat....
Does it pump it cold chilling air? YES IT DOES 100%.....

COST OF INSTALLATION - N0.00
EASE OF USE - It's portable and can be put to use at multiple locations at different times.

NB : If a massive living area requires chilling, then a split unit 2HP would beat this portable unit.

. . . where money is no issue which will you recommend. Don't want the outdoor unit of split to occupy space for sit-out balcony and cloth hanger. Split in living room already occupying space on it's own separate balcony

I would recommend 2HP lump. The cooling unit occupying the space a lovely family portrait could easily occupy & the outdoor blower, occupying the space you could easily sit, while drinking grey goose, chopping suya & relaxing with friends....

If you have money go for LG gencool inverter AC. It's the best decision I've made on electronics. I've got the 1.5HP which chills like mad... Powered by regular generator.
