Doe was recieving support from the US government cos he was supporting them against the sovietduring the cold war,.be clear,.he was supporting them with proceeds from blood diamond after they installed him.

He became greedy and lost their support (Doe did not loose their support because the cold war ended,.he proberbly started doing business with other people including some known Nigerians.)

He was arrested in the US at Doe's prompting but he later escaped from prison and went to Libya where he and some other would-be NPFL rebels got training,arms and logistical support from Gaddhafi's Libya. It was from there they landed in Cote d'Ivoire and began to launch incursions into Liberia from the Nimba County area which automatically led to the first Liberian civil war. His broke out from the US jail was staged by the Americans, and they were the ones who sponsored his rebellion at the initial stage, all this was done to oust and deposed Samuel Doe, and by doing that they created one of the longest and most brutal civil wars in the history of black Africa.

Doe was betrayed by Ecomog in order to bring a quick end to the war. They were wrong. I met a Liberian some months ago Who gave a scary graphic account of the brutality he witnessed as a young child.

It makes me wonder if those miscreants of ipob strumming the chords of war really understand what it means.
