You ask too many Jamb Questions, Just give me your own thoughts.

no answer the question, do you think the sale of alcohol and cigarette should be illegal?
if you are gonna legislate a form of "immorality" then you should legislate them all. heck lets even fine or send adulterers to jail.

let's just leave it as it is. let prostitution remain a "try at your own risk" ordeal for the horndogs who wanna take that route to pleasure.

if the sale of alcohol can be regulated, why not prostitution?

Prostitution shouldn't be legal, that's just immoral. tongue

And why is it immoral? Keeping house slaves a.k.a house maids is not immoral but legalizing prostitutuion soley for the protection of the parties involved is eh?

It has its own economic importance, It is going to reduce the incidence of rape, child molestation, molestation if it is well regulated.

Lagos is messed up. Prostitute is the only woman action some guys can get. Why dont you get a proper yung woman lover instead of messing with
prostitutes. Prostitute cant be yur wife so why are yu going for them. Women who are prostitutes are just god-damned lazy there are better choices than pkom job.

seriously, look at some of the comments in this report:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100827/ap_on_re_af/af_west_africa_prostitution

What, no slave ships or slavers from the West;
No white men, making money such invest;
No foreign practice which perfection seeks;
Just prostitution reaching seeming peaks;
Which must have been by those in power blessed.

No different then when they enslaved and sold other blacks and then sold them to whites. No doubt they will try to blame it all on whites, again

Well, a lot of Europeans looks the other way as tons of Russian, Romanian, Ukrainian etc, women are trafficked too. Who you gonna blame? Nigerians.

Blacks selling Blacks into slavery is nothing new. African tribes used to raid the next village and kill and eat the men and keep the women for slves and sex. Then later the blacks sold the men to slve traders to take to America where some of the slave owners were black.

i wonder why we have a culture of prostitution in nigeria?

i can see this working in western countries but not in nigeria.

prostitutes in nigeria dont go into hiding cause its illegal, they do it cause its shameful. even if it was legal it would be rare if never seeing a nigerian women register as a prostitutes

and a loooott of our women have sex and soon after expect money or gifts. they're not technically prostitutes but there's no difference and these are the ones helping spread aids

The biggest brothels are the institutions of higher learning. Those doing it in hiding are mostly village girls who escaped to the city without a game plan.

Most high class prostitutes don't even need to hide it because they're oftentimes doing something else on the side, they raise capital from the ashi business & plough it into their education, trading (Dubai runs etc). It's a reflection of the woeful economic situation of the country, and this practice is more or less the norm among the young ladies these days. An incredibly high percentage of sexually active young women in this country are part-time prostitutes, these are mostly in the cities.

That your neighbour's daughter that you bang when your wife is on night duty, most likely she also services 3 other Alhajis, 2 Perm. Secs and a Business man in addition to you. And she's an undergraduate of the University of Lagos. LOL grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Legalizing prostitution in Naija will be catastrophic.  Someone is saying lets do it and have the girls have regular checkups and co, Lie Lie. When people dont even obey simple rules and now you want them to go in for checks and co. Furthermore, many of our people overdo "Western-inspired" (even Arab inspired) notions, i.e. "Mountain of Fire International Church", "Most Supreme Sharia Council", etc. So no, I dont want 12 year old Britney Spear wanna b's parading on Zik avenue for pimps

We definitely need to legalize this "business," and try to regulate it, in order to curb the spread of disease.

Tsiya:

I hope you are not talking about Nigeria.

You first of all have to understand that in Nigeria there are so many industries that are not regulated. bars, cab drivers, restaurants are not regulated. We have all sort of food joints all over the country selling all sorts of junks and poison.

EVen private school (primary and secondary schools) are not proparly regulated. We have all sorts of building and trash serving as schools without qualified teachers. That is why we have massive failures in our WAEC and even NECO. Only 10% passed the lasts year exams

Privave Clinic are not proparly regulated in Nigeria. It is only in Nigeria where 10 patients will die on a surgeon table within a spate of 1 month and nothing will be done. And only in Nigeria where a general physician will be carrying out all sort of surgeries

Even downstream petroleum sector is not proparly regulated. Black marketing is common every where

Even the BAnking sEctor that have a well establish regulatory agency is a mess

Any attempt to legalize prostitution in Nigeria will legalize maltreatment and trafficking of women. The number of women that will be force in to prostitution will increase both by the families and even abductors. Selling of baby body parts to ritualist will increase rapidly because there will be many baby factories and nothing can be done

Nigeria in my own opinion have not reach a moral level to legalise selling of a woman body

You get sense well. Na your mama born you. I agree with you totally.
