This video concurred with everything one of the survivors of this attacke narrated...It's so sad to see in this day and age our military still doesn't even the know the right tactic to use, I noticed just like the survivor claimed the Soldier who were in charge of securing the convoy were all ahead of the convoy armed with 50 caliber machine guns mounted on soft body hilux, in the video you will notice the Boko Haram cleverly allowed the 50 cal bearing pickup trucks to pass before cutting off the less armed portion or the 200 vehicleconvoy with gun fire from the sides and their own 50 calibre hilux calvary from the rear ( brilliant ambush tactic by Boko Haram I must say )which left our army escorting the convoy no chance of recovery as the only option left was to try to get out completely of the ambush zone which was now active from the sides and the critical rear ...I also noticed another tactical blunder in the kind of air asset that was sent to initiate a recovery, it was an Alpha jet which tried to do a struggling fly by accompanied by its own cannon fire and you will notice the Alpha no longer scares Boko Haram fighter because they know from experience it's a harmless noise maker that can't see or hit anything on the ground accurately, I would have expected that our military sent in the just one of the two hind helicopter gunships active in that area instead of the static Alpha jet , the gunship would have easily recovered that ambush i tell you . |
