COMMUNIQUE ARISING FROM THE MEETING OF SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS, OHANAEZE NDIGBO AND SELECTED IGBO LEADERS OF THOUGHT ON THE STATE OF THE NATION HELD AT NIKE LAKE RESORT, ENUGU, ON SATURDAY, 1ST JULY 2017

At the end of the meeting of the above enumerated categories of Igbo leadership, the following resolutions were adopted:

1. That Ndigbo are in support of a united Nigeria where peace, love, fairness, justice, equity and equality of opportunity are paramount regardless of creed, ethnicity, gender or political affiliation.

2. That we condemn all hate speeches and conducts emanating from any segment of Nigeria.

3. That Igbo leaders lend their full support to the restructuring of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the basis of fairness and equity. We therefore call on the Federal Government and all Nigerian leaders to commence a process of dialogue among Nigerians on the modalities of achieving this pressing question within a reasonable time frame.

4. That Ndigbo support the report of the National Conference of 2014 and urge the Federal Government to set up structures that will enable the implementation of same within a reasonable time.

5. That the South East Governors, members of the National Assembly from South East and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo should henceforth constitute the official organs that will speak on behalf of Ndigbo on political matters.

6. That the South East leaders in consultation with leaders from other parts of the country will engage the Federal Government on all areas of concerns to Ndigbo and to Nigeria as a whole.

Foolish people...who listens to you people? Very soon Nnamdi Kanu will be unable to hold his followers...they might invade the houses of these criminals mortgaging the future of this young generation, and deal with them severely maka chukwu, force them into exile. Only an idiiot doesn't see the anger in this young generation of their future being wasted by their elders. SE Governors and National Assembly members have hijacked Ohaneze. This supposed statement was put out by SE Governor forum no longer Ohaneze. Nwodo has lost his credibility.

all of them combined together can't pull the crowd, respect and social obedience that Nnamdi Kanu pulls, as far as we the voting masses are concerned, all these politicians are only interested in their selves, have no conscience and are sell outs.since we have been voting for them, their bank accounts have been growing while we the voters have been getting worse off,We're not voting come November 18 and they won't force us out of our homes to come and vote. let them rig themselves out, fight and kill themselves and finally go to the tribunals to expose themselves.we're done with Nigerian politicians and their tricks. the only time they know about our existence is during elections, on November 18,we would deny them on the election day.

Ohaneze ndi oshi na umu aturu

Some animal zoo governor like obiano have decided to sell Igbo people to slavery and we should convert to Islam

These same buffoons supervised the murder of our people at nkpor and head bridge but said nothing or visited the victims

The same fat oaf governor of Enugu was there when people were being killed in their village while asleep

What about those killed in aba nothing

There submission is lacks merit.

While I applaud the aspect that implies caution to their disrespectful youths, I however, condemn, in strong terms, their quest for restructuring. What is this madness about restructuring? Our past leaders were not foolish to have given us a constitution to strengthen the bond of our coexistence. That constitution did not capture restructuring and anybody championing this strange and wicked taboo should be charged for treason.

lollll!!!! this is what I called a face saving meeting.
we have passed a vote of no confidence on every political office holder in the southeast including ohaneze ndi Igbo since 1800BC.
the only genuine and patriotic authority we obey in the southeast is the directives of IPOB under the leadership of Nnamdi Nwachineke KANU.
if they like let them meet from now till end time at Agulu lake, the SUN must rise!!!

5. That the South East Governors, members of the National Assembly from South East and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo should henceforth constitute the official organs that will speak on behalf of Ndigbo on political matters.

Haven't they been the official organs for the past 50 years? What did Igbos get from their leadership? At least the ACF in the north made sure any party or government in the country MUST keep the minister of FCT Abuja for the northerners since the creation of the FCT, they also made sure Abuja to Kaduna rail system worth $1.2 billion was built. Remember that Kaduna doesn't contribute anything to the country. Now name one single thing the South East Governors, members of the National Assembly from South East and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo have brought to the eastern land? Though I must confess the new Ohaneze looks different...

I agree with this communique in the sense that all these agitations in the country especially from my side, the south east is as a result of conceived negligence and marginalization..if ohaneze pushes this restructuring agenda through, then some of our problems would ve been dealt with.I also love the part where the issue surrounding who speaks for the Igbo's was laid to rest but the fact from here is that you can't wish Nnamdi KANU away cos he is seen as a liberator and someone who stands with the masses.its high time, ohaneze and every Igbo political leader embraces this and try to iron out ways to downplay this secession threat and instead work with him to find way to bring back Igbo nation into the scheme of things..there's no problem that dialogue has not been able to solve...

Whatever rocks their boats.

But the question is who do the people believe? This gang that continually benefits from one Nigeria at the detriment of downtrodden masses or Nnamdi kanu who from all indications enjoys massive grassroot support
Time will tell.

The communique is 'cautiously silent' on Kanu/IPOB which shows they don't want to be in collision course with their people. grin

Nigeria is now a game board and some of the players (regions) aren't in a hurry to show their hands.

since u and ur leaders don't want Restructuring the only option is to divide this country let us go our separate ways because South demand we restructure Nigeria and ur region don't have another choice.
Region that do not contribute anything to the development of Nigeria wants to continue to reap where they did not sow greedy people.
note: military option can not stop agitation for Restructuring.

There you go again! We have different arms of constituted authorities who have sworn to protect the sanctity of this country by the was of absolute adherence to the same provisions of the constitution which both the North and South are signatories to.

I'll remind you that if it was military time, all these ravings about restructuring would not have lived longer than a month. Treacherous Southerners who were this silly in the past had bitter experiences. ask Adaka Boro, ask Saro-Wiwa, ask Ojukwu, ask Abiola, ask Awolowo.

Our military does not consort with backstabbers. The foolish Uwazurike waited patiently for transition to democracy for his terrorists group, massob. And now we have the brat called Nnamdi Kanu and vapid Yoruba elders talking trash about restructuring.

I'm for rule of law. We have no referendum clause in our constitution. Going against the constitution is going against the will of the people and I can tell you, that will never happen, at least, not anytime soon.

It's a grave effrontery when you refer to North as "parasites" even when they solely feed the dependent South. Such effrontery will bring bitter consequences some day.

Parasites from the north, but who are the hosts? Certainly not SE cos they are co-parasites. Chairman of SE governors forum has confirmed that.

My dear Nwodo has lost his credibility, he thought Kanu was fighting to enrich them, the greedy politicians in the East and had been on his side until Kanu announced no election in Anambra state, Nwodo did a rough calculation of the amount he will be losing from dirty Ohaneze governorship endorsements and campaigns and started singing their political song against Kanu! Kanu, I know, Nwodo who are you?

With the deplorable state of the Igbo nation and how comfortable they were with the status quo, before the emergence of IPOB, they have all lost their mandate and living on borrowed time.

Okorocha second term was most likely rigged. Ndi-Imo never voted for APC.

Thus Okorocha does not have the consent of the people to be making ignorant utterances.

Go to Egypt wen the Arab spring first started their leaders said this exact same-things.

Anambra election remains cancelled. Sit at home is sit at home.

They still did not condemn Biafra, nor reprimand Kanu.

These were the same people shouting and moaning for Kanu to be released. This is set up. If Kanu is returned to prison he will be there a long time, and no SE leader will plead his release, in fact some of them are begging for his return to prison now.
