completely change the old system into CB and had an Automatic changeover so no more knife switch and had an LED indicator installed which shows if it is Grid or Solar 3 Likes

On the Solar Side redid the whole circuit breaker thinghy and also added a fantastic Voltage regulator so that if the Voltage from Grid is either too high or Low it will never be let through 1 Share

Oga Adrusa, Ojeysky...... I recently installed felicity hybrid 5kva inverter. Things going for it, 48v and mppt controller. Compared to my bluegate inverter, its lighter though looks well made(well weight might be deceiving), lacks AVR(just bypasses the input grid) and makes high fan noise when charging (decreasing the charging current reduces the fan noise). One thing I like is the low idle consumption about 45watts. Anything to improve the experience, datalogging |

desiji: So Steca and MPP Solar can work in parallel. This is good to see. 1 Like |

Peterlove11: Looks like it's already working fine for you, that said, the inverter does some basic logging, you can check that on the display. However any extra data logging will have to be external. |

I have got some neatly used 24v gear for sale: 1. MPP GK 3024 4kw panel, 500V 80A and can do up to 60A AC charging. - 180k 2. 24v 50A adjustable current and voltage external charger (used twice) - 70k 3. Circuit breakers and SPD - yet to make up my mind on fixing price for this. 4. 24v 60/100A Daly BMS (new) - 40k They are in their top performance. On a side note, men the Deye is huge and feature packed. 2 Likes

Good morning guys, please I have a question, which is better for solar energy, Hybrid inverter or normal inverter with MPPT? |

NiyiOmoIyunade: I hope you should have answers already. But I jutcallmenuel has the 100 amp DCB. He advertised it to me although I needed 60 amps which I eventually got from him too. |

badaru1: I was using a standalone inverter(bluegate transformer based 3.5kva/24v) before recently porting to an hybrid system because I needed a 48v system coupled with some pv installations. Now am using felicity hybrid 5kva/48v. These are my observations The transformer bluegate is heavier and very rugged. I ran virtually everything in my house on it with no problem. The fans are naturally louder than the felicity hybrid In terms of performance i will say they are both good...... though I feel bluegate of equal kva as the hybrid might be a bit stronger. There is a caveat I was able to run 100% of the hybrid capacity this morning on battery with no problem though evident higher fan noise. The Max I have done on the bluegate is 70% of it's capacity. The reason I pushed the hybrid to it's limit was because my wife was sceptical about it. She felt it might not be able to power loads like the bluegate, since we want to send the bluegate to my Mum. The no load/self consumption of the hybrid is lower The presence of a charge controller on the hybrid is an advantage. Anyone is good. Just know if you are installing a standalone inverter you might end up coughing out more money for a controller later if you eventually add panels to your setup Below are pictures of my load testing of the felicity hybrid 1 Like |
