Very good for him and the benefits Nigerians could benefit from this therein. But ladies and gentlemen, here we have one of the 'cabals' of the meat (cow) industry especially if u are trying to add 2 and 3 to get a clue from the proliferation of weapons in the hands of herdsmen ravaging the country having in mind these 50,000 cows mostly wouldn't be reared in ranches.. I could be wrong though so do not take my opinion too seriously even though its always good to look at the bigger picture...

Government typically sets deadlines to ban importation of certain products when local production capacity for such a product has grown considerably. Only businessmen who take advantage of such situations win.

The question is, 'why is it that every other businessman prefers to keep importing (gives more profits obviously) instead of developing local production capacity?... It is already a known fact that if local production increases, govt would ban imports, so whu do other businessmen keep sleeping while Dangote keeps building local production capacity?'

Typical example is tomato paste imports which was banned recently. It's been in the news for close to 3 years that the govt plans to ban tomato paste importation in 2017, but only Dangote and Erisco seem to take that serious by building tomato plants. At the end we end up blaming him for being patriotic and smart.

The bulk of his loans are from multilateral lending organizations like World bank, IMF, Africa development bank etc and bilateral sources like China Exim bank and independent lending houses.
