Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa OFR, is a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and former Chairman of Sterling Bank Plc. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Essay Holdings Limited, as well as Chairman of Rite Foods Limited and Tura Kodak Film in Nigeria. He is also the Executive Director of Thai Farm International Limited, a Nigerian-based company that focuses on the production and processing of cassava. Adegunwa holds a doctorate degree (honoris causa) from the Lagos State University and Olabisi Onabanjo University. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulaiman_Adebola_Adegunwa

In 1963, Chief Adegunwa set up Essay Holdings Group, to carry out the photography business. Within a decade, it had become one of the first fully-equipped Colour Laboratories in Nigeria. As part of its expansion bid, the company diversified into the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector a couple of years later, and established Rite Foods Limited.

The firm produces the Bigi range of non-alcoholic beverages including table water, as well as a wide variety of sausage rolls, such as Rite Spicy Beef Rolls, Bigi and Bigibite Rolls. Its' beverages come in the following flavours: Bigi Tropical, Orange, Lime & Lemon, Cola, Bitter Lemon, and Apple. Their multi-million naira fully-automated factory is situated on several hectares of land in Ososa, near Sagamu in Ogun State. It was launched in 2014, with an objective to produce world class quality food and beverages in Nigeria, and its' adherence to high quality standards has allowed it to thrive in a market dominated by international brands. The factory is currently being run by Mr. Seleem Adegunwa, son of the business magnate.

Starting a beverage industry that is undertaking all operations in Nigeria has been quite a challenge, especially with consumers remaining very adamant to change, especially with the mentality of not wanting to try out new brands. They have been able to win the hearts of Nigerians with top quality and their taste not differing from that of their giant rivals.

“Rite Foods is committed to building a sustainable brand alongside the community, reducing environmental damage and providing inclusive work environment for employees.” “In terms of hygiene and quality it can never be better, because we use the best machinery, best practices and zero human interference,” says Seleem Adegunwa.

Being an industry that undergoes all operations in Nigeria, they have been able to employ over 3,000 youths which is an estimate of the number of youth corpers in one batch stream in Lagos, in just three years of establishment. And not only did they create a large number of employment, they also provided them with staff accommodation within a stone throw from the office that makes working stress free. https://blog./rite-foods-online-success-story/

There is still a lot more that can be said about Chief Adegunwa. wink A few publications have carried stories about him. In the 90s, he was popularly known as Fototek, because of his investments in photography, and photographic equipment.

His massive head office at Adebola house in the Opebi area of Ikeja, Lagos was a beehive of activities. cheesy It had one of the best photo studios in Lagos. But when smartphones and inkjet printers were launched in the Nigerian market, the demand for photographic materials dwindled, and he had to move into other lines of business. cool He celebrated his 70th birthday last year, and many people had kind words to say about him.

The Story Of Ijebu Businessman, Alhaji Adegunwa ~ City People Magazine ~ April 9, 2017

The story of renowned business mogul, Alhaji (Dr.) Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, can be likened to the proverbial Grass to Grace. He started his career as a Photographer and with the grace of God, he stepped up his game and became a big player in the Photography business.

He rose to become a big importer of photographic equipment before he veered into other areas of investment. Today, he owns several companies and he plays big in real estate and banking.

When this Ijebu businessman, turned 70 last year, he was celebrated in a big way. The stylish and deeply religious man has positively touched so many lives. For decades, he has been actively involved in philanthropy. He has, however, been silent about it.

In Ijebu, his image looms large because of his kind gestures. He is from Ososa Ijebu, the land of birth of the late Theatre icon, Hubert Ogunde, of blessed memory. He has also established businesses in Ijebu just as he did in Lagos. He also built a big mosque in his home town.

He recently completed a big multibillion dollar factory that has provided jobs for several Ijebu youths. If you approach Ososa town from the Benin-Sagamu expressway you will see the very expensive factory where he produces his RITE sausage rolls, and soft drink. That is what he has always been known for. His past achievements prime him a better prospect to industrially lift Ijebuland . A harbinger of good things, he is, by his present dispensation going to script a glorious future for Ijebuland.

His economic empowerment stride is spectacularly lifting Ijebu people out of quagmire of poverty. As he knows the benefit and value of kindness and selflessness, he keeps living those values. He is living an exemplary life, which is a source of inspiration for future industrialists. He treasures without any inhibition, love, integrity and hard-work as values

At 71, he is still vibrant, quick-witted, sharp and focused as a prodigy in his teens. He is a model of tenacity of purpose and resilience, which have remained his benchmark. Strong, and courageous, he has never for once reduced the urge to strive higher for a much larger business conglomerate. His unquantifiable contributions can be appreciated in major areas such as business, philanthropy and national unity.

Alhaji (Dr.) Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa has perfected the art of working silently, and letting his achievements speak for him, but then, success is a gold fish that has no hiding place. He has succeeded in getting his name written in gold. Thus remaining at all times an invaluable giant.

He is the Founder & Executive Chairman of many companies like Fototek Industries Ltd, on Opebi Road, Ikeja. He set it up in 1980. The company, is a conglomerate with its sister company, Photo Palace Ltd. It operates photo labs, boasting of 56 branches across 28 states of the federation. The company also engages in sales of photographic equipment and materials. Please read the rest here:
