THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON WORKS LED BY SEN. CLIFFORD ORDIA. TODAY THE 19TH OF JULY VISITS BODO-BONNY BRIDGE.

The senate committee on works today also visited the Bodo-Bonny brigde in Gokana Local Government Area.

The job was about 22% before the last contract was terminated from Gitto Construction.

It was later re-awarded to Julius Berger who will soon mobilise to site to complete this very sensitive bridge that links Bonny island hosting NLNG, which is of great strategic importance to Nigeria's economy, this same bridge will connect to other areas of Rivers State.

You would recall that on 7th June 2017 distinguished Senator George Thompson Sekibo and alongside other Rivers Senators canvassed for immediate commencement of the road project via a motion, this after a similar move through a motion was taken on the floor of House of Representatives by Amaopusenibo (Hon) Randolph Iwo Oruene Brown, 1st March 2017 with his Rivers colleagues in the House.

While addressing the press, the ebullient and ever conscious Senator Clifford A. Ordia, disclosed that funds for this important project have already been appropriated in the 2017 Budget.

He reiterated the fact that the Senate, under the able Leadership of its President, Senator Bukola Saraki, is doing everything within its powers to ensure that the Nigerian people get the best they deserve, while promising not to relent in ensuring that their oversight functions are carried out to the satisfaction of Nigerians.

He was accompanied by other members of the committee Senator Ben Murray Bruce and Senator Sani Mustapha.
