Schism has been the resultant outcome of doctrinal disagreement,and,of course,of other forms of differing interests such as that of leadership and authorIty, law, and dissatisfaction stemming from the clergys' failures to meet the laitys' expectation. This is true of one of the major event of schism that broke out in Germany ,few decades following the 16th century, when Martin Luther, a Monk, pressed the 95 THESES to the door of the Papacy. Luther and subsequent authors of schism were not concerned about personal interest or material aggrandizement,
(although this can, to a lesser extent, be a contributing cause.)but about what consists of the true doctrine - the ways and practices that leads to God - and the same was the motive that constituted the bedrock of subsequent break with religious conservatives . Therefore, if it is true that the crisis,threatening the corporate wellness of AG is a product of carnivorous greed and unfounded cravings for AUTHORITY, OWNERSHIP and LEADERSHIP of AG by the individuals or groups concerned, then let schism be part of the question. The thrust of my critique is that ,first,any one who is no longer pacified by being in UNITY with AG should leave the church for good, and not to claim right to Its facilities under pretext that laws should be considered. Second, the AG crisis has sprouted out of wrong cause and undertone: no faction is innocent enough to attract support. Third. God is the only arbitrator, and so, trusting both the constitution, of AG and of nigeria, for arbitration is, itself, not an evidence of piety. Fourth, the two opposing faction are claiming grounds on the old fashioned, idealistic and now-unworkable administrative laws and system of AG. It is evident that this crisis is also a result of the poor mode of running the AG affairs. There is the possibility that if AG manage to get over this, new sets of bad eggs are likely to surface by taking advantage of the inherent weakness of the porous system, Hence there is an urgent and imperative need to revamp the system by way of a bloodless revolutionary measures or reforms that will mark a complete overhaul in the system. This is a responsibility of all claimants of good-spirited and non-bias AG Stakeholder. It is, however, so disturbing that there are some cogs on the wheels of our effort in making this project a reality. First, so many have been preoccupied with the faction-supporting business,hence,they are blinded to see and do the needful. Second, they still, with reference to the David-Saul issue, see the disputants, who shows no regard for God, as respected and anointed figures whose orders cannot be fraughted. If any of this individual dies in his impius state, will God, because he was once anointed,allow him any access to paradise? Of course not. Rather than being passive, faction-supporters or ignorant, let us all be ready to purge AG of its BAD EGGS, and save it from being imperiled by self-interested, impius and carlous individuals.
