The same cycle of people with 'only me mindset' who don't allow the system to work, aren't they same cycle that would lead the re-structured regions? Or are we rooting for Angels to take over the re-structured regions?

Sir, If you and I (all of us) have decided to make Nigeria work, Nigeria will work, but if we don't, the re-structured regions will still harbour us and our different self-aspirations and interests. In-fighting will be the bane of development.

Is Lagos not in Nigeria under Nigeria as an enclave? What stops other states or regions from attaining the same status as Lagos in Nigeria?

If we learn to put national interest above our selfish interest, things will work, Sir. We don't have to re-structure or Biafra-ed Nigeria believing then would things work.

Long Live Nigeria!

Peace

You talk of Lagos as if its some paradise. Its the 2nd worst city in the world. Just to give this forum some realistic perception.

And that, on top of the massive federal attention its received.

Restructuring is the only way.

Urhobo says they want it
Ijaw says they want it
itsekiri says they want it
Efik says they want it.
all Niger Delta minorities need it.

let us control the resources in our land why paying tax to the central government, with the tax the Government can assist states that are poor and need rescue.
People need to understand that the best way to move this country forward is to restructure the country, let's go back to Regional System of government.

The same regions calling for restructuring back to the 1963 constitution are the ones that toppled it
They claimed Itz not favouring them
Yet again, here we are
Y did Aguiyi Ironsi changed it in da first place?

This is so good!

Imagine:

there are 419 local governments in the North and 365 local government in the South and the north gets far more resources from the Federal Government than the people producing oil in the country. Niger Delta is producing more and getting less.

It's time to awaken the lions of the south!

Fact: It's the richest and most developed among the 36 States including FCT. It has no oil nor heavily endowed natural resources like most states. Lagos can survive on its own without the federal government despite the teeming population.

Let's see the road map

Also how the whole thing will look like

Then millions of Nigeria will take their stand

If you need the road map, go study the 1963 constitution and the regional system of government practiced before the military intervention in 1966. That should give you an idea.

If you need another one, study the USA system of federalism. Or the Canadian system. grin

I don't disagree with you.

But like i said earlier every time the ND talks about oil, they don't mean it as a resource to be harnessed for economic and industrial growth. Rather, they talk about its commoditization.

The militants and activists fight not against pollution or industrialization, but for a bigger slice of cheese from the oily cash cow.

When GEJ settled the Asaris and Ankio Briggs and Tompolos....didn't they get stupendous wealth and the expected silence that sold out their folks?

There's dishonesty in full display here from the self-styled activists for resource control. All everyone wants is the power to blackmail the rest of the country, and the means to make tons of money for self gratification.

When we start the national discourse on truly harnessing our resources for real growth and not self enrichment, then will i partake in the conversation without a healthy dose of cynicism.
The north bring nothing to the table, but they get the largest allotment of revenues

Have you been to sapele? Ogoni? Have u seen the state of the oil producing regions?

Is that justice to you?

I am Yoruba by the way, but I think it's time we move on from the Nigerian project it's sad but this is the inevitable truth.

Self determination is a God given right

No nation can ever have equal distribution of resources. And the north does contribute with non-oil exports.

Before oil was discovered in the 1950s agriculture was the economic mainstay. Have you forgotten the vast fields of cotton? The massive pyramids of grains?

The bulk of the food consumed and exported is produced in the north.

And the political glue that held the country together has always been the north.

The south has always been the destabilization factor, always clamoring for balkanization and disintegration, as if that sort of upheaval had ever happened peacefully.

If you think because the ND has oil and thus should holdthe rest of the country by the balls, then you've no idea what nationhood is.

Bad leadership has always been our curse. And in the 18 years of democracy the south held power for 14 years, when oil was selling like gold and dollar was stable. Did the OBJ or GEJ transform nigeria?

Did they restructure the country besides the jamboric sham of a conference GEJ organized?

All they did was enable and nurture a whole new generation of kleptomaniacs and demagogues.

Today we're suffering the policies and ineptitude of the very seeds planted in those 14 years of southern rule.

Soon as APC took over, the buzzword on everyone's lips is restructuring. The truth is that the christian south cannot abide a muslim fulani northerner in power. It's all bigotry and hate because the 14 years of southern christian misadventure is conveniently swept under the rug.

Your diezanis and tompolos and odilis and iboris and PEJs stole your people blind, but that is not something you never vent your anger on. When nigeria is divided, these are the same people you'll hoist as leaders.

Look, no one cares about your oil. The world is fast moving away from that greasy shiit.

The average northerner has no idea what crude looks like, nor to even give a rat's ass what to do with it. We exploit our land to make a living: grains, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, cucumber, rice, meat, dairy products, poultry.

But all you have: oil. A very finite resource.

Please keep your oil and bathe in it.
