PierreDeFermat:Can't really count, you know something similar to what governor's have. All on tinted glasses. At least there were 2 Hillux vans with those revolver lights indicating security vans. One in front and one at the end of the convoy. I am not against him, not at all, he's a great achiever, just that some of his statements here are hype. |

PrecisionFx:go understand how crude is being traded. You will understand It makes no difference buying Nigerian crude or foreign as long as militancy posts a risk to his business. Do you know how much it costs oil companies to provide security ... but they are still operating... Go figure! |

Whatever rocks his boat. Am not a hater neither an Ipod thug but one thing i know is that the level of unfair monopolies and Govt concessions this guy enjoys is crazily obscene. Till now cement is #2700 That's almost $9 while the world's average for any serious country is less than $5. We don't import we produce locally. Even the ones he exports are sold at about half the price at which it's sold to Nigerians. Ibrto was frustrated out of the cement market just to give Dangote absolute monopoly. Ibeto said there is no economic reason why cement should be sold above #1000 (ie $3). Forget about our epileptic power supply, he has a power transmission plant. In as much as i pray to be as rich,if not richer, i don't pray to get it at same cost to fellow Nigerians as he has and is still getting it. He practically bought all the Govt cement plants at giveaway price, the press are constantly being compromised both with cash and advert placements, so technically he is above reproach. All his achievements are largely a product of both you and my common patrimony. He operates an economic model that steals #1000 from you and me and give back #10. We hail him for the paltry sum not knowing we have been robbed of #990 for every #10 he gives back As excited as i ought to be about his refinery project in my home town,Epe,am not because i know it's going to be the most expensive fuel in the world thereby impoverishing the people the more . True we need local investment but not from someone using the money that ordinarily should be ours to boost his own personal empire The amount of import waivers and tax concessions Dangote has enjoyed is enough to make all roads in the country and connect every state by fast rail and still do much more, with that analogy you will begin to appreciate the level of damage this 'humble man'has done to our collective wellbeing Like i said am not a hater so i congratulate him on his many achievements but i will say i respect people like Innossin, Adedoyin,Ibeto and millions of small, medium and big Entrepreneurs out there struggling to make it without Govts spoon feeding and his own utterly distasteful business practice May God bless our hustle 1 Like |

Re: Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around by Nobody: 5:52pm On Aug 19, 2017 |
PrecisionFx:he will pay for crude thats my point and there is a benchmark for crude price!! Oga , dangote will buy crude and sell the refined product. He can choose to buy his crude anywhere in the world. militancy cannot affect his business except if he wants to pass his products via pipe to depot. I am not sure about that information. as for crude reaching his refinery via pipeline, he will only pay for crude thats gets to his refinery |

Re: Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around by Nobody: 7:42pm On Aug 19, 2017 |
majekdom2: Ur more confused than I thought. The point is that if the the pipelines that brings him crude is bombed, he starts recording losses immediately(I don't think u know much about this). Then buying crude oil outside n shipping it back to Nigeria means ×5 of expenses. No investment is safe in Nigeria, the volatility of the niger Delta region is the main reason why shell, chevron, AGIP etc who could easily build refineries here are completely uninterested in doing that. |
Re: Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around by Nobody: 8:13pm On Aug 19, 2017 |
PrecisionFx:again learn about crude trading. If they bomb pipelines, he will source his crude abroad. I have attached a link. As long as the funds are there, he will will find a seller. It will sell for same price. There is a benchmark per time. It doesn't go above that price. They will on come to terms on payment, the seller wil deliver regularly at t port. Read abou crude trading before you engage me http://startuptipsdaily.com/crude-oil-sellers-and-buyers-in-nigeria/ |
Re: Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around by Nobody: 8:51pm On Aug 19, 2017 |
majekdom2: Lemme know how far u are. How much (in million dollars) does it cost to keep a refinery "On" for 24 hours......... use 500k barrels per day capacity to calculate. |
Re: Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around by Nobody: 9:10pm On Aug 19, 2017 |
PrecisionFx:Oga this does not have any relevance to the discussion. Dangote is a world class investor that knows his market. You will be silly to think they have not done their risk assessment. Again, they will import crude from anywhere at the price oil is trading. FYI, most traders sell crude lower than the bench mark. Getting crude is not even a problem with the present crude market. Crude full everywhere looking for buyers. That business cannot be affected by any bombing of pipelines. Except perhaps bombing of the refinery's pipeline. In that case the militants are calling for war because the refinery no dey their land. |
Re: Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around by TheAlchemist: 3:18am On Aug 20, 2017 |
PrecisionFx: The real reason why shell, chevron, agip would not build refineries, build power plants or seriously investment in development of gas plants, is that they are here and here for only one reason to plunder the resources of Africa. It is much easier and preferably for them to dig a hole and suck it dry and move on to the next hole until there is nothing to suck again and simply dismantle all their drilling rigs and ship out of Africa. Their task of plundering the resources of Nigeria was made much easier because of the unserious government we have been having over the years. |
