'Express 0.029646 correct to two decimal places ' the teacher said. A guy named Sola raised up his hand. Sola was a spoilt brat from a rich family. He always bragged that his daily allowance was more than twice what we get in a month. 'you all are poor pple and I'm rich ' He used to say. Anytime he starts bragging, we would ask him why his parents decided to send him to a school meant for the poor. A question to which he had no answer. Apart from the fact that he was rich, he was a complete dullard. So we were surprised when he raised his hand. 'Maybe he knows the answer ' I thought. 'Ok, what is the answer? ' the teacher asked. '002.9' he said and I smiled. 'How did you get your answer? ' Silence!!! 'Ok, just sit down. You didn't get it ' Sola was clearly embarrassed. it was obvious. 'Everybody say "shame on him "' Mr. Adewale said. 'Shame on you ' we all chorused facing Sola and we smiled. You dare not laugh in Mr Adewale's class. Even if you were just passing, you mustn't laugh. We thought he prevented us from laughing because he was a stammerer even though he was a joker. As he drew breath to speak, the timekeeper rang the bell for breakfast. On hearing the bell, he just picked up his cane and went out. He had the habit of going out whenever the bell rang no matter what he was teaching us.... . *** . |

"What's all this cacophonous jabber all about?" John demanded angrily as he came back from farm one Saturday evening only to discover that his wife, Tomiwa, had wrecked another havoc with her mouth which brought chaos into his house. Tomiwa had a knack for creating an uproar which was always left for John to come and deal with the bedlam whenever he comes from the farm and whenever Tomiwa was asked to talk, she always had hokum's put together which would only cause more uproar. Today was not an exception but John was tired from farm work and he wasn't ready to solve any of Tomiwa's mysteries. He sat tiredly on a stool by the kitchen door as he responded tiredly to tons of greeting from the group of women who had ganged up against Tomiwa to defend themselves from the series of her bullets of insulting words. "Welcome, my dear husband. See, it's not my fault but..." "Shut up, woman! Look, I have no time to start settling quarrels you started with your maladministered tongue. Ehn, why are you so maladjusted? You'll stir up chaos and then you'll tell me you were maltreated" By this time, the other women had dispersed to their various houses in the neighborhood. "But..." "But what?" John interrupted again. "But it's not my..." Tomiwa tried to explain. "Stop but-ing me and go get me my food and a bucket of water to bathe with." "You should at least let me explain" John only hissed and left her transfixed looking on like an underfed child looking unto his mother for manna from heaven. As John entered his room to change his clothes, he sighed heavily as he felt the effect of the tranquility in his humble Haven. He brought out his small Itel phone and as if on cue, the phone started ringing. It was his brother calling from Ilorin. He almost dropped the phone in excitement as it has been ages since they spoke or saw each other. He felt on cloud nine as he pressed the answer button on his phone. "Hello!" he answered the call. ***EMJAY*** 1 Like |

Tell me if this is funny or not. We were sitting in our sitting room one night watching the nine O'clock news on NTA when some armed men came in. On seeing them, we went on our knees pleading for our lives. Then my Dad mustered enough courage to speak Dad: Please sir, take anything you want but spare our lives. Armed robber: Who asked you for anything? Tell your wife to go and make Eba for us so we can eat. This change is negatively affecting us... . Funny or Not? |

Chapter Two (The story continues... ) Desmond and Jane were in the sitting room one Saturday afternoon watching a movie on DSTV when Sarah ran in screaming, "Thank God" at the top of her voice. She was holding an A4 foolscap printing paper. "Doctor, why are you shouting like that?" Desmond asked. "Do you want to bring down the roof of this house?" "I'm sorry, Dad" Sarah struggled to catch her breath. "My joy know no bound." "So? Why that?" Jane asked. "I just checked my waec result on my PC now and... Alas! I passed." Desmond's face lit up. "Really?" He asked with an element of joy in his voice. "In flying colours, Dad." She replied showing him the printed copy. "Wow, this calls for celebration" Jane said standing up from her seat. "It really calls for big time celebration" Desmond said also standing up. They all went to the wine rack and selected a bottle of wine. After drinking a toast to Sarah's good result, Desmond instructed Jane and Sarah to go and get dressed so he could take them out on a celebration spree. It took them thirty minutes to get dressed but at last they were ready to go. Their first port of call was Tantalizer where they fed their palate with delicious delicacies. After that, they left for an amusement park after which they went to a high class boutique where he bought them beautiful clothes. He also bought them expensive gold necklaces and wristwatch before heading to Chicken Republic for a sumptuous dinner. By the time they got home at about nine thirty at night, they were so tired that all they could do was take a shower and sleep. ***EMJAY*** 1 Like |

Jane walked out of the kitchen gracefully with an apron over her casual wears. She was holding a red and black towel handkerchief with which she cleaned her hands. She looked extremely beautiful with her chestnut coloured skin and brown eyes which showed she was not a full Nigerian breed. Her father was a Nigerian while her mother was an American from South Carolina. She was born and bred in America and she only came to Nigeria after her university education. That was when she met Desmond who eventually became her husband. The first thing that attracted her was his handsome features. She looked around the dining area as she seemed to have forgotten what she came to take. She hissed as she tried desperately to remember but she couldn't. She placed a hand on her waist and the other on her head all in an effort to remember but all to no avail. Sarah walked in in her characteristics gentle manner. She was a carbon copy of her mother having all the features her mother possessed. She also had this very long dark hair that rested on her shoulders and it flowed after her whenever she ran. She was in her late teens and was in her final year in the secondary school. "Mum, anything the problem?" She asked noticing the state in which she met her mother. "Oh, nothing, my Angel" Jane replied getting out of her sulk at last. "But you looked worried " "Nothing. Just trying to remember something" Sarah's pet name with her mother was Angel and Jane hardly remembers her daughter's name. "You better stop worrying yourself too much, Mum. It's too dangerous for your health" "Ok. Thanks, our family doctor" The pet name 'family doctor' had been given to her by her father on her tenth birthday when he asked her what she wanted as a birthday present and she requested for a stethoscope. It took all her parent's efforts to convince her to have something else and she actually ended up using the stethoscope of her friend's mother who happened to be a doctor and was invited to the party to give health talk to take a picture she loved so much. "That's me for you" She replied smiling "Oh yeah" Jane said suddenly as she remembered what she came for. It was actually the salt cellar she came for in order to refill it with some salt. She grabbed it and hurried back into the kitchen. Sarah looked at her wide-eyed and openmouthed with surprise and later burst into laughter as she also followed her into the kitchen. ***EMJAY*** 1 Like |

The night seemed longer than normal as John rolled in his bamboo bed. He was starring at the sunniko wall clock every fifteen minutes or so. His spirit and soul were in the farm calculating the work he was going to do during the day. He looked at the clock again and the time was a quarter to four in the morning. He hissed and looked at the slumbering oaf beside him. His wife, Tomiwa, slept like a log of wood and whenever she did, she was very difficult to awaken unless sh voluntarily woke up. It seemed her sleeping habit was due to her stature. Fat, tall and huge in contrast to John's thin stature which always made John wonder why he married such a being as his wife. She slept so much there were times he would copulate with white and she wouldn't know only to wake up in the morning and ask him what took place between them. But apart four her sleeping habit, she was an excellent wife. She did all her chores at the right times and she was never lazy on the farm. She was so helpful to her husband that he never hesitates two satisfy her the way he could. He looked at the wall clock again and he saw quarter past four. This drew series of hisses from him and as if this was a signal for the cocks around, have heard several cock crows. With this, has got up to get prepared for farm. He went into the barn to get his working implement after which he sharpened his cutlass. He went back into the room only to discover the time was four thirty. By this time, his wife was laying face up and he looked over her hungrily. Several thoughts crossed his mind and his manhood raised its head and grew longer. He laid beside her and as if she knew his thoughts, she turned over and put her hand across him. This was the opportunity he waited for as he kissed her hungrily and she responded as expected. Within twenty minutes, they were down u the act and as he got off her, he slept off almost immediately only to be awakened by the frantic cries of his wife that it was time to go to the farm. ***EMJAY*** |

CHAPTER ONE (In the beginning...) The house was a mansion built in the heart of G.R.A in the city of Ilorin. G.R.A is an area in Ilorin associated with the rich and high ups in the society. This mansion is one of the biggest in the area and it was conspicuously built as it was painted with White and wine colours. At the back was a very large swimming pool alongside a small tennis court. At the front left of the house was a car park with three cars in it. One was a Toyota Prado jeep of 2015 model, the second was a Nissan murano and the smallest was a Toyota Camry 2015 model. The fence around the building was tall and about 15 feets high. Desmond walked into the sitting room with the finesse of a dancer fry to knot his tie on his black two-piece suit of high quality. He was all dressed for work. Desmond was a light complexioned, hairy and tall man. He was in his early forties but he looked much younger as he took much care about his health and well-being. He had these white and full set of teeth that seemed to captivate anyone whenever he smiles. He looked around the sitting room as if this was his first time in it. The furniture in the room were of top quality and even the electronic were imported. He had a special taste for quality. He looked around the room again and his eyes rested on the picture of him and his wife, Jane, which they took on their wedding day. Desmond looked good in his suit and Jane looked ever beautiful in her white wedding gown as they both smiled like someone who just won a lottery. He smiled as he always did whenever he looked at the picture. As he was still faraway in his wonderland, Jane walked in and brought him back with her characteristic question of 'Honey, where are you? " Desmond nearly jumped out of his skin as he stuttered, 'Here...I am' "Oh, there you are." Jane said with her American accent before adding "You looked extra happy this morning, what?" "Just remembering that wonderful day" Desmond replied as he pointed at the picture he had been starring at. "Oh good" Jane said as she adjusted his tie after which she said, "You're good to go" patting him on the breast. "Thanks, my Queen. You'll forever be my beloved." "Thanks, my King." she replied curtsying. "Can I get a kiss?" "Of course" Jane said as she carefully placed a kiss on his waiting and hungry lips. After the short display of affection, he grabbed his car key on the glass center table and moved out as Jane watched him from the window as he eased the Toyota Prado out of the car park. As the automatically operated gate opened, he left the house to join the hustle and bustle of a Monday morning it a city. ***EMJAY*** 2 Likes |
