Fellow nlanders, I have heard of 'magu' many times and I've even watched the movie 'Thunderboat' but I never ever thought about the reality of the mystery of 'magu'.

That fateful evening, I got back from work and saw people gathered at the gate of the next compound. I waved at them, they responded and I opened my gate and went in. I later realized that my landlord came in few minutes after me when he called out to the next compound asking them if the condition of the 'young man' had improved. They said 'no'. The young man was lying down on the floor almost lifeless, couldn't talk and wouldn't even move. It was claimed to be stroke. My landlord advised that the guy be taken to the hospital but one of the guy's co-tenant insisted that the situation only required native attention in which they already called for an alfa. I wondered how crude that was but little did I know that there was a story behind the story.

Few minutes after, there was a cry from the compound that the guy was gasping for breath and they all started shouting, running helter-skelter while I could hear hot prayers too. Immediately, I called out to my landlord and told him that I could hear noise from the next compound as my window is closer to the said next compound. Although he said he had called their landlord as their own landlord is not resident in that area and that their landlord had been calling them but they wouldn't pick his calls. My landlord decided to go see things for himself.

Eventually, the guy's family came around and took him to the hospital. My landlord then came back and told me that guy had marathon sex during the day with a particular lady who he actually prepared for by taking viagra and different enhancement items and that he was reacting to those things he took before the rounds of sex. I further heard that a particular girl was even also around earlier to take some money for abortion.

Later, that night, his co-tenant confirmed that they were able to get to general hospital.

Fellow nlanders, the truth is the guy died early hours of the following day.

In the evening of the third day, I came across my landlord who again engaged me in the same discourse. He said he felt that guy might not have died if they had taken him to the hospital but it was at that point they told the truth. The young man specialised in sleeping with married women and on that fateful day, he came in with a particular lady and few minutes after, the lady left alone. It was an electrician he called much earlier to come help fix some items inside the house that got to his door, knocked severally but what he could hear from the guy's flat was sound of someone continuously jumping and breathing heavily. The door was eventually forced open and he was seen jumping up and down unclad and breathing heavily.

He contacted 'magu' that was placed on a house-wife most likely by her husband. Immediately, he penetrated, thunder struck. She realised it and just packed her things and left.

That was how the unmarried young man wasted his own life.

Most times,I doubt this magu but in my deep mind,it seems real.
