I had just finished a training and I was in the admin section of this organisation when this song began playing in the office. My trainer, an Ukwuani man whose phone the song played told me it was 'Agogo' by the late Smart Williams.

This song is deep and full of wisdom. It is about aproko people grin.

It is also danceable, so you better believe it when I told you I shameless danced in the room while my colleagues laughed cheesy. I was so smitten that I hunted the music on the net and thankfully found a YouTube video

Listen and be inspired. The ending part is my favourite: oburu n'eze oburu je n'opara cheesy

Agogo- Smart Williams

I love this song, although my mum had to translate some parts for me because the song is in conk Ukwuani language. Listening to it continuously has actually helped improve my grasp of the language.

Very lovely song.

In fact, you need to listen to the album. My dad used to play it on repeat back then, everyone in the house loved it.

May his soul rest in peace.

In fact ehn, the song made me yearn to learn more about my culture. I am so hungry for it and nowadays I make a conscious effort to speak the language as often as I can.

We can dance whenever you are ready cheesy

I was first introduced to Smart's music at my cousin's wedding. She wasn't marryin an Ukwuani man, so the music they were playing were some dry, forgetable songs. When the DJ put on 'Ndokwa bama ma', na so everywhere scata. grin My Pa, his folks and her folks rushed he dance floor and boogie down!! cheesy

Me sef join too, even though I didn't really understand the language too well then.

This the song below. You might want to skip the first 10-12 minutes 'cos the music doesn't start until then.

Lolz

I know this one very well. The person in that video is his protege, who sounds so much like him.

I heard Smart Williams learnt from Oliver De Coque. He was actually in his band, playing guitar or so. Some of his songs sound much like Oliver's.

I hope you know he's a great dancer too. He always had this smile on his face whilst singing. One could tell he enjoyed doing what he knew how to do best.
