That was a wrong thing to say, you don't use people's situation to insult and judge them. Because you don't know tomorrow, you don't know how yours will be.

♤Yes! you're right.. it was a wrong thing to say.

♤ßut.....it was necessary

we were travelling to ado ekiti for the burial of one of our staff yesterday 29th of August. on getting to ilesha's road, our driver wanted to overtake a j5 driven by an aboki who decided to swarve on our lane and before the driver could control the Toyota matrix, it was already sumersaulting. it was a miracle that we all came out safe from the car after several sumersalting.
una late staff get beta head..... God is the ultimate

Baba ur ITK wan dey too much u might be a good driver but it does not mean you can never have an accident, it might even be one of ur short trips dat u would av an accident, I don't pray dat happens. But nobody is perfect the driver couldn't control the car doesn't mean he's not a good driver
it may hurt to hear it but the guys you are quoting are correct. in driving, there is a skill applied called 'what if'. it comes with experience.
if your driver had established eye contact with the j5 driver, observed the road ahead to check if the j5 driver would have any reason to veer into his lane (pothole), checked if his car car can quickly pull through the overtake, checked the width of the road to make sure he can use the shoulder should there be need to make an evasive maneuver, you wouldn't be involved in this accident. the 'what if' would have covered more points than mentioned above and would have been a guide to your driver. he would have been ready for such an erratic behaviour from the 'aboki'. if a fully loaded wagon can brake in time, use the hard shoulder and avoid an 18 Wheeler halfway into an overtake in a similar situation, I don't see why your matrix would be in the bush.
thanks to God you guys are safe though.

The day I ran into a pool of water on a express road doing 130 km per hour and still live to narrate the story, then I know I am a professional driver.

That day it seem I was dragging the steering wheel with unseen demons

tyre thread marks and direction.

No demons involved wink

I beg to disagree .....I have been hailed as a professional driver (being that I stick to the rules and still do my normal swag driving) next year would have made it 20yrs without an accident ...yes without an accident and I had planned to actually mark it ...until 2weeks back ..a trip to uyo from lagos everything was going fine until this guy came out from no where at ore and tried to pull a wonderful stunt of forcing an overtake while I was already overtaking a trailer ...summary is I noticed with my sharp reflex and tried to avoid him ...that was my doom ...it was raining and an accident had just occurred the day before with a tanker fully loaded with diesel spilling it's contents on the road ...I lost control of the car in a split second and my brakes won't work as the car just kept sliding cos of the diesel spill till I crashed on the road divider..thereby ruining my 20th anniversary....now what I'm I saying..no matter how professional we are or how good we are we cannot control some of the events that we encounter..we only pray that God takes full control all the time.

At op...congrats and thank God for life...even if your car summesaulted once it's not easy ....after all you did not plan to have an accident when u started the journey....@gazzuz and Co .....I learnt that day that no one is a professional ...Na God dey save us...and may He continue saving us.
he didn't come out of nowhere; he was in play all the time. you just didn't see him till he was too close. you may have been fixated on your own overtaking manoeuvre and didn't take notice of him.

its called hydroplaning. anyone who has driven in the rain at a fair speed would have experienced it.
it is worse on a front wheel drive vehicle with bad alignment.
I was once turned almost sideways by such an experience.
as soon as I got to pH, I rushed off to a service station and adjusted my rear alignment which I had always known was out.
even tiny bumps then tended to steer my car sideways.
its also severe when one side of your car drives through a patch of water, the vehicle loses traction on that side, loses power on that side and starts veering; causing the driver to often overcompensate and then spinning the car out of control.
awareness helps save the situation though.

What you describe is what I pass through. I've gone to drop a friend far inside ogoni land and on my way back to ph, I ran into the water that stretch about 20 metres after a heavy downpour that flooded the road. I thought maybe the witches from that village has escorted me out. cheesy

Doing that speed, I tried steading the steering but the witches were in control of the wheels grin

Today, I give baba Godeeea the praise

your story is a bit similar with mine, my saving grace that day was the freeway,a diesel/tar truck spilled its contents up a slopy road and I was descending, next thing I heard was screeching sounds of tyres and the vehicle began a serious drama, zig zag movements as though I had a tyre burst, took a quick glace at my mirrors and noticed there were no vehicles in sight, then the struggle to control the wheels began, not until some minutes before it could get enough friction,as rightly said by you, there is nothing called a professional driver, when it comes to road crashes, gazzuzz also had a nice point,he was just harsh/mean in putting it across, the driver overreacted within that second and that caused the crash,we all prone to mistakes hence the imperfection trailing humans.

U don't trade ur life with mallam wen u r driving....they have nothing to lose, the life of cow is important to them than human being around them

After NYSC in 2015 I was coming om. My driver was trying to correct one Hausa man for not maintaining a lane so others can pass, he decided to run after my bus until we shouted on our driver to swarve into a street on the highway...

A times I wonder we are still in the same country called Nigeria, retarded brain...

Reminds me of one incident that happened years bk along Ibadan express way. Myself and my parents were coming from DLife camp retreat.. That was how one aboki driver was speeding, changing lane anyhow with his truck. My dad cautioned him to maintain one lane . Iñstead of this aboki to heed to correction, he vexed and threatened to hit us... That was how this man started pursuing us .. my mumsy was scared and started pleading, the aboki no gree hear until my dad turned into another street on the highway.

True, human live means nothing to an aboki.

that's why it's better to drive SUVs, there is a better chance of survival in it. few weeks ago, when a friend gave me a lift in his saloon car, I was just agitated all through the journey. After driving SUVs for long periods, small cars now feels like death trap.
