I never said they were asked to express gratitude, i don't know where you got that from, in fact it's the opposite.

Nigerians praise their elected officials for doing the jobs they were elected to do, it's sad and pathetic.

Like, we elected you to do this job, we don't expect anything of you though, but if you find it in your heart to do your job and carry out your obligations we'll be very grateful.
