To say the world of dating is filled with potential for missteps is an understatement. It seems as though you can do the wrong thing at any given moment when dating. On the other hand, if you something good about your ex, then your date will wonder if you still have feelings for your ex. Either way, you aren’t going to look good by bringing up your ex, so don’t do it. Keep your attention on the person you’re with and you will do fine.


What you must Know #2 – Don’t be phony. I’ll let you in on a little secret: Guys are pretty simple. However, guys do not like phoniness. Be yourself. When you pretend to be somebody you’re not, it will make you uncomfortable, and this can show through in other ways. Also, what happens if things go well? You can’t live a lie forever. Let the guy like you for who you are.

What you must Know #3 – Slow down! Men and women are different and tend to have different goals. One of the traps a lot of women fall into, without thinking about it, is to talk about wanting a family and lasting relationship on the first or second date. While it’s not always the case, most men will be scared off and prefer to take things as the come. Give it time and ease into it.


What you must Know #4 – Don’t negate compliments. This is one of those tricky dating tips for women. This is what happens…the guy says something nice and then she starts to contradict the compliment. He mentions how nice your blouse looks, and you point out the microscopic stain that your dry cleaner missed, or you mention how it’s just some old thing you threw on. Not a good move. Instead, be polite and offer a simple thank you with a smile.


What you must Know #5 – Speak your mind. Maybe a bit of clarification is in order on this one. What it means is that it’s okay to share your opinion. There are some lists of dating tips for women that suggest you should just agree with whatever position your date has. Forget it! Nobody agrees on everything, and a lot of guys want somebody they can have real conversations with. Don’t get into an argument, don’t be rude, but do feel free to share your opinion on things.
