smk247info:
Piqued by the inability of the just concluded workers’ screening exercise to bring down its wage bills, the Kogi State government has introduced electronic attendance register to further checkmate the activities of the civil servants.
The state civil servants are already lamenting over the new clocking system, which they said would further impoverish them with the recent introduction of 50% salaries payment.
The new system which workers have to clock in between 7.30 and 8am for resumption, 12pm for break and 4pm for closure, on every working day, is being used to determine how many days and hours an individual worker spent in a month for the purpose of calculating the salary.
it was gathered that the machines, which have the imputed workers’ biodata, were installed in all the ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) which are to be controlled from the office of the Accountant General of the state for the purpose of computing salaries on individual basis.
Kogi State government is the first state in the country to introduce clocking time regulations for its workers.
According to some civil servants who spoke on anonymity, the government has subtly commenced downsizing and technically introduced salary reduction.
“Come to think of it, for instance, a PRO deployed to ministry of environment and whose parent ministry is Ministry of Information will have to go to the ministry three times a day and still have to contend with his work at the ministry of environment, with enormous costs, as the two ministry are located far from each other.
“Also, those who are on essential services would have to stop whatever they are doing to rush to the ministry to clock in three times per day. Is the new system not meant to sack wor...................
Madman, nah how much you dey pay them, mumu gov. Abeg make Una try spoil am, if em bring another one spoil am, na him go tire

i may not like the Governors leadership style. i think this is a right move given that civil servant in the country do not stay in their offices. ask those who have had reasons to visit local government and ministries.

NL can be funny at times, some peeps dont read, they just criticize

Personally i see nothing wrong with this idea. We are too lazy in this countary, u go stay house de complain say govt no de pay, oya go to work and justify your claim. It should be implemented nation wide sef.

Re: Kogi Introduces Daily Payment For Civil Servants by UnknownT: 7:51am On Sep 08, 2017
Someone will still embezzle money. A scenario like this: Someone whose salary is 90k if he clocks in everyday, let's say for a month he didn't clock in for some for some hours, and his pay for that month drops to 81k, someone will still embezzle that 9k differential and claim the staff was paid 90k for that month

Diz kinda policy works best for company workers not for civil servants who can go out of the ministry for various assignments.....

I commend the Governor for this development as it will control ghost workers and nonchalant attitude workers. The whole nation should adopt this control process.

We are really suffering in this our country self

Graduates salary is not more than 40k and they still want to deduct something out of it undecided
Re: Kogi Introduces Daily Payment For Civil Servants by chigoizie7(m): 8:20am On Sep 08, 2017
If this can be carried out judiciously and effectively, then, it's a welcomed development. It is a crime to get paid for the job u didn't do.

Many of us have never been to these government ministries. Only then will u know that this pattern is the best.

For The issues of the PRO mentioned in the thread, there will be a way to tackle the issues.
